Hi, as topic, as i am using Maxis 3G sim card, it does have 3G signal as shown in my iphone 3G. (on the application top menu bar there, beside the signal) and does it counting as i am using the 3G because my bill for this month is rm300++ for GPRS and 3G usage ONLY while i never use 3G but wifi instead. If it is actually using, how do i off it? Thanks!

There are times that iPhone will auto connect to internet for checking latest update software and other stuff.

Is it why far the best solution to opt for Data unlimited package from rm 58, rm 78 and rm 88.

If you had choose this option, you won't be complaining of paying over rm 300 phone bills monthly.

iPhone is just too dangerous to use without internet access package, You'll never know what's downloading in the background.

Off 3G and Edge. In order to off Edge, i think u must jb 1st.

NO need for jb . just mess with the APN setting will do. it'll prevent any data from coming in.

Indeed. BUT, eventho you off edge and 3g using jb apps, somehow it will still transmit but low usage. I did this and usually will sent/receive only around 1 to 5kB per day. No big deal.

Mess up with APN will not help. iPhone somehow will still able to surf the net. Try to mess up your APN and launch Safari, you'll know what I'm saying about.

Added on November 3, 2009, 9:42 amTake note that some apps got ads inside. Say SBSettings. Underneath the apps, there is a little banner.

Say Tap Tap Revenge, I tried to mess up with APN before, before jailbreaking and the usage somehow boost up until 400kB just for the application to run.

fakeapn works for me, turn it on n i cant connect to the internet but somehow it drains the battery

I didn't try fakeapn before but whenever I disable edge/3g using sbsettings, I also can't connect to the internet. But try to monitor your usage. Might somehow increase but low. I don't really know how can my iPhone Tx & Rx.

i thought u can check your tx and rx from the usage option in settings?

Hi guys, thanks for the reply and help. Now the problem is that my mom won't let me to subscribe anything because to her, she scare with the hidden fees and something like that. And yea. I just simply don't want her to pay so much on just my phone bill so am using my prepaid on my phone now so it won't simply adding any figure to my next bill. FYI. My iPhone Is official unlocked from maxis. Still, any other siggestion and how do I so the VPN thingy? Simply apply the setting?

Mess with APN also OK. BUT, for future usage, u need to restore back the original APN value. Turn off both 3G and Edge works fine for me as i dun wanna ess up with APN cuz i might be use the 3G as well when needed.
