QUOTE(onlooker @ Feb 18 2010, 08:02 PM) Quaz, the elo points were derived from the actual no. of rounds won and lost as well as the opponents vsed to get overall performance so you didn't end up last overall...... lol i know, just messin arounThese points are meant to be used for any ranking matches or tourneys to not only determine initial placing but to also act as a sort of "ranking system" for the BB players on this board. Added on February 19, 2010, 4:18 am QUOTE(Sora @ Feb 18 2010, 08:07 PM) I had a feeling you'll do this. lol hehe, forgot to add in-The first thing that came to my mind when you showed that ranking points was HoN. Because that points are TOO SIMILAR with HoN's PSR stuffs. lol Which also gave me the idea of best to just keep losing so noobs will play with me or something. lol xD Since that's what I do in HoN. to the rachel naysayers: after watching that vid, really, is she even that bad? an almost 4k dmg combo, zone freak, and wtf is that air escape BS /facepalm to ever think arc sys can come up with something more annoying to fight against than nu/lambda. well, heres effin rachel This post has been edited by Quazacolt: Feb 19 2010, 04:18 AM |

QUOTE(onlooker @ Feb 19 2010, 02:19 PM) Just my 2 cents here on rachel for CS: - the summary is about half the wall of text you wrote lolFrom that video there, the almost 4k combo required a corner throw, 50 meter and 2 winds...... The pumpkin is now also not invincible (haku can cut it now) and will now disappear mid-flight if rachel is hit. Froggy is arguably buffed depending on your playstyle if you like sliding. Wind is somewhat buffed and nerfed at the same time in that the 3rd and 4th winds charge faster then the 1nd and 2nd winds charge slower. So usage of winds is pretty much restricted. Put this together with beanbags, which are now no longer guaranteed as well...it really makes holding down a position really hard as there's nothing to prevent them from charging through except a pumpkin or air beanbags (which don't replenish wind and also allow them an opportunity to rush in). Both lead to a somewhat meager damage output due to the proration changes to Rachel's frame data. In order to do reliable damage, she has to start a combo with a dangerous move such as 5B (which is sort of a shorter and slower version of ragna's 5B) or lvl 3 j2C coupled with either 2-4 winds and/or 50-100 meter. Corner may also be a requirement for it. This also relates to her pressure game in which, her winded j.2Cs can no longer connect with regular normals and should a 2B be used for lows, damage prorates terribly. Even if a DP is blocked, there's really not much dmg to be done as the fork doesn't even counter much anymore unless you have the above requirements for high level comboes.... Summary (since its a wall o' text up there): She has lost much of her zoning capabilities (pumpkin start up time for example) + pressure mixup options as well as dmg capabilities (in respect to combo requirements). Wind is scarce now and her defensive abilities got nerfed even more (super cat punch for example). So you can really rush her easily. Normally this wouldn't have been an issue if she had some offensive capabilities (like bang in CT) but....i suspect that if she were to be put in BB:CT she would be even worse off then tager. Finally, I think that kaqn actually risked those pumpkin hits as they didn't really do much damage (IMO). - rachel's nerfs was very justified. the nerf results however, thats entirely another story. what i am trying to say though, it isnt as bad as many may think. that said, from a hakumen perspective (by no means im a player of shadow's caliber, obviously) being zoned (which is rachel's new adopted playstyle) that much is pretty much enough to make me just give up the match altogether - which comes to the point of your reply "She has lost much of her zoning capabilities", while the rest of your post i can agree, this is obviously not the case judging from the numerous videos ive seen which involves rachel doing pretty much only one thing: zoning - of course, her damage now is very much shit compared to her op'ed self in CT, easily 3-5k++ with or without throws/corners/heat meters, then again if you wanna compare, shit utterly depressing tsubaki is there for a comparison. although i guess one may just claim her charged combos can actually be devastating, but lets be realistic in the sense that people arent gonna let you sit there and charge. and when it comes to the usage rankings, tager is also up for comparison despite the numerous buffs he received. although again, thats usage data from japan, and tager was never a japanese favorite -in terms of kaqn, hes very known to be very aggressive, taking risks and what not, and oftenly very questionable moves, in which id regard it as him just simply trolling. QUOTE(snoopcow @ Feb 19 2010, 04:56 PM) who doesnt XDwell, i guess when ur fighting against a taokaka pro... >.> =edit= oh god screamyx Added on February 19, 2010, 5:21 pm QUOTE(onlooker @ Feb 19 2010, 04:59 PM) Sorry for the misunderstanding, what i was trying to point out was that basically her zoning is sort of false in the sense that she constantly loses ground and is unable to really even stop characters such as tager or haku from closing in. (I assume its used only because its much more reliable then trying to apply pressure upclose now) for tager, i never seen a rachel vs tager post CS so i wouldnt comment. This, as well as not having a reliable defense when the gap has closed as well. IMO, it was not the amount of dmg that made rachel OP in CT but rather was her ability to apply great amounts of pressure and have a great oki game. for hakumen's side however, he did received a TON of anti zoning tools, such as frame advantage on 623 AA and void creations (although loses ability to cut projectiles) and lets not forget the lol pokes. so it wouldnt be that fair to put hakumen into the equation of "losing grounds and unble to reliably zone him". heck, ragna is one of the toughest characters to zone due to invulnerable divider, and look what happened against kaqn. granted, its kaqn (lol), and he didnt spam invulnerable divider that much in favor of more damaging combos. and yeah thats true, its those lol anti air close in (which hakumen relies a LOT due to shit ground movement) cat punch and shit fork (again, hakumen recovery post attacks is entirely terribad) but the part that follows after those "main reasons" is a 3-5k dmg punishment. ALL that said, id rather fight reis rachel than anyone's ragna because of how i am able to handle rachel's preasure better than i do against ragna. not to mention the lack of bullshits like invulnerable divider, imagine dividing a f***ing yukikaze (yes, happened once). although lately i am kinda favoring more to reis' ragna PROBABLY cuz: - reis rachel fights better - ragna's dmg string isnt as insane as rachel - hes using ragna mainly recently in prep for cs (hes abandoning rachel) and i am kinda getting used to fighting his ragna (LOL YUKIKAZE SPAM) This post has been edited by Quazacolt: Feb 19 2010, 05:21 PM |

QUOTE(incx @ Feb 19 2010, 11:44 PM) Playing Haku is all about playing mind games. Experience Ragna players will always be able to predict Haku's movements. Who can't anyway? He's slow and very much predictable. However, if you use that to your advantage, knowing what your opponent would think what you would do, would benefit Haku indefinitely. - lol'ed. so sad, but true. thank god for CS buffsHm, I guess it sounds a bit too complicated. Haha. But all I can say is that, to use Haku, be prepared to lose a lot. But yet when you win, you'll feel a major sense of accomplishment. Till now, to have used Haku for such a long time, I still find new things I can do with Haku which I did not realize early on. - yukikaze distortion finish. nuff f***ing said as for me, im learning more combos/air chains. so yeah lol. QUOTE(Sora @ Feb 22 2010, 03:55 PM) Still good enough for me I guess. lol http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/switch-language...&language=en_JPI mean, I bought(or given) the 1st BB collector's book and was fascinated on how the characters were given so much consideration to be made. I wanna see what kind of "visual" book can this be. this one ka? i suppose this "visual book" is probably something similar |
