If you are afraid of bad tidings, just give it to the nearest temple. Most will take it. I have 2 very nice ones that was given away by my boss from my old workplace long time ago. I'm not Bhuddist but i like the statues. The bronze one was damaged last year, i thought of giving it to a temple nearby. But i need to do some refurbishment of it first.

I understand how you feel. Sometimes just follow what you feel is right. Advise are aplenty, and you will know which is the right ones.

It's just a man-made pbject.

exactly...i wonder how hard it is to understand such a simple stuff in life...

Yes it is man made object. But you don't realise YOU are also made by man. So when you were made (born) and not gotten any bigger but was dumped in a rubbish bin, because the man that made you feel it is a hassle to keep you. So how would you feel? If you ever got the chance to express yourself when the first light shone in your eyes?

There are a lot of people lacking knowledge of each others religion. At least if you are not 100% into "their" religion, at least some knowledge would be appreciated.

For Bhuddist, a prayed statue for them would carry a soul inside. As TS stated the statue was prayed before, it is not right for the first owner to give it to TS. He/she should have given to temple. But as TS graciously accepted it, the soul of the statue would be at peace. But if abandoned, would prove to give out bad tidings to TS. Once the statue is given to the temple, they would do prayers for it. Last i know it to set the soul free or something. Now this i know because i have talked about it with a lot of bhuddist friends. They said the same thing. The modern bhuddist people are not as superstitious though.

Btw to everyone, i'm Chatholic Christian, i have a Indian neighbour that prays to their god i dunno which one la (got elephant statue), i grew up in malay populated area, and have a lot of bhuddist friends to go to every chinese new year today.

I'm not saying i know every darn religion there is. But at least i know some to know how to gain respect from their practices.

Laugh all you want. You could fill in the blanks, pat yourself on the back. But you did not mention i was right. I could call you names and make fun of you with animals that does not need to be male of female to reproduce. But thats not the point. Anyway TS already signed sealed and delivered. Good for him.
