Interested on Android but I've no idea what we have here in Malaysia right now. I saw HTC Hero at Blue Cube, but what else?

HTC Hero's currently one of the best available, and we also have the budget HTC Tattoo, and more will come very soon!

The CSL looks more like China made knock-off from HTC Magic. I take it that only HTC Hero is available officially in Malaysia. From what I've seen in the shop, it looks good but if there are more choices, I would like to check the rest.

CSL is a Malaysian brand, usable in fact, but the design is always copied from other companies.

Anyway, HTC Magic is available too, but Hero's newer biggrin.gif
Well stay tuned, it's highly possible the Sony Ericsson Xperia X3/X10/Infinity aka Rachael will be announced on early November, and many other manufacturers will be releasing many more Android based phones, with breathtaking specs that no other phones have reached before!

Usable probably for making calls, but not usable as full blown Android based phone.. no 3G .. no wifi .. and I thought Android was meant to be online most of the time wink.gif .. Anyway, it seems that what currently in the market are:

1. HTC Magic
2. HTC Hero
3. HTC Tatto

(Waa.. all HTC only .. love HTC .. heehee.. my current HTC Touch is still running great, but mobo changed once tho' under warranty).

Dia take a look at Xperia, waa.. nice one, but I hate it when the phone companies will make the new phones available to US/Europe market and we'll only get it 6 months after.

i think the best android phone with budget price
1. htc dream / G1 (1k~1.5k)
2 Htc magic ... (1.4~1.8k)

with new eclair update .. the bluetooth and capacitive display screen multi-touch .. works .. both of this model are same capabilities with htc hero .. senseUI , same display size .. and the only diff is camera Mega Pixel

Htc tattoo is a resistive display so .. the multi touch wont work on this device .. hence the big price diff between htc hero

That CSL thing runs MTK OS, ... it just says "Android Interface", i.e. they skin it to look like Android. There are similar knock-off phones for iphone as well; the outer casing looks pretty much the same and it runs some basic phone OS that is skinned to look like some other phone.

Dunno who willingly buys this kind of phone, it just seems to spoil the reputation of the real thing only.

Looking at the price of RM499, I definitely feel something really wrong with this thing.. now, all have been revealed .. probably sourced from China. I don't know much about CSL but looking at their phones, they seem to look the same as those popular models from the big players but yet so damn cheap.. surely smells fishy ain't it?

I will be awaiting for the next arrival of HTC phones with andriod 2.0 or later since i tested out the hero and the pinch zoom multi touch function isnt as smooth as iphones which put me off. Everything else was wonderful.

Hmm i think to achieve the speed of 3gs is quite impossible in the near future. It not that android isn't capablr but its impossible to achieve something like that w3 multitask on. I will always have my widgets running from wheather to twitter to clock to always online msn i find it hard to believe that at the same time we can achieve a nearly smooth like os

Well if they ditch the flash feature, it should improve the pinch zoom experience

Most of the Android sets are coming to our shore .. but God knows when .. so, best bet to get Android sets with local warranty is to get those HTC ones .. Hero, Magic & Tattoo ..
