jus wondering you guys obviously heard of the dividend- in -specie 3:5 for TAE. how does it work in terms of timing?

i cipied paste the below frm Bursa.. so say i hold TA shares.. whn would the earliest be i dispose it to still be entitled for the TA global shares?

dropped so much since the budget announcement.

assuming if it closes on 27/10 at 1.38.

the ratio is 5 TAE shares for 3 TAG shares and 3 TAG ICPS at a par value of 0.50.

hence, the dividend in specie is 0.50 x 6 = 3.00.

cost of 5 TAG shares = 1.38 x 5 = 6.90. so (6.90 - 3.00) / 5 = RM0.78.

today is the last day for the dividend-in-specie entitlement as tomorrow is the ex-date

therefore, tomorrow we'll have the following opening price

TAE = ??
TAG = 0.78

so meaning if i sell tmr.. ill still get my TA global shares?

eh pana jie, should be TAE = 0.78 and TAG = ??

actually i'm not too sure about this. i thought we have to hold till the entitlement date n time (just to be safe)...

usually if one sell on ex-date, they are still entitle for the dividend, but of course, the price would have re-adjusted already by tomorrow

Do any know what does the ICPS mean? something like warrant? Will the price of ICPS fluctuate and we can sell and buy like warrant?
If I have 5 TAE now, what will I get after 30/10/2009? Do I need to do any application like right issue for that?

read the article that bro teehk_tee mention above. yes the price for ICPS fluctuates. its listed on the KLCI. convertible after 3 years . mandatory after 5 years.

the 60sen dividend has been convert into the 3 TAG?
each of the TAG cost rm0.20?
