I disagree I have tried countless of counterfeit rackets they all play like crap, some of my friends 'scored' a huge deal some Babolats and Wilsons at a real good price, he was bragging about his good fortune,naturally I kept quiet as I didn't want to hurt his feeling and risk ruining our friendship.However I just had to tell him when he conveniently wanted to sell all his newly purchased rackets to some of my students at near retail prices, if he had kept them I would of kept quiet and let him enjoy his purchase,imagine asking someone to pay RM699.00 for K6.1 tour when he originally purchased it for RM115.00 ( original price was in Indonesian currency)

If you like how your 'fake' racket plays more power to you.I have heard the 'fake' Babolats are real killers on the arm.

I would definitely go lower, Luxilon is a 1st generation poly its stiff as hell, it should kill your arm if you string it around 58-60lbs, if it doesn't more power to you, however I highly suggest you string this lower esp on rackets that are 95 and below, I use to string Luxilon at a mere 48 lbs, it played beautiful for the first 30 mins, then died on me.....to be honest Luxilon is over rated however it is a premium poly if you can afford it, go for it, if you're looking to stretch your budget, try Pro Supex Blue Gear, Signum Pro Hyperion, Signum Pro Tornado, MSV Hex Focus, Cyberblue(sounds like something out of a porn movie lol), if you don't like full poly set up, you can hybrid with a soft synthetic like Gosen, if you want to try a multi (not recommended) you can, use whatever works for you.

by definition, synthetic gut would cover EVERYTHING except natural gut since all the others are man-made ie synthetic material.

however, over time as the categories of synthetics increase, many have now become a category in their own right. it has become very confusing as the categories now can either refer to its construction (synthetic gut, multifil) or material (poly, aramid, nylon).

the generally accepted categories and their definitions i can think of are:

synthetic gut = solid core (usually nylon) with one or more multifilament wrap
multifilament = composed of multiple filaments (duh...) with no discernible central core
polyester = usually monofilament
aramid = kevlar (or similar fibres) usually in multifil construction
nylon = cheapest of the cheap, can be monofilament or solid core with wrap

however the line between synthetic gut and multifil is quite vague especially where the synthetic gut has 2 or more multi wraps.

in future we could see even more confusion as polyester are becoming multifilament and/or have more of other materials ie nylon in them...
