This only applies to PBB D2D VISA.
PBB D2D VISA should suits him fine. Just help him to open a savings account at Public Bank and request for the Day2Day VISA debit card.

Maybe this is the best way.. PB saving account can be used for his monthly spending, but still, another saving account must be left untouched by this kiddo. sweat.gif

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Nov 5 2009, 08:55 PM)
Your parents can always set the daily withdrawal limit as well as the VISA purchasing limit. But then, since this is his card and he knows the PIN number, he can always change the limit at any Public Bank ATM nationwide.
That's easy ! Don't give him too much money and make sure he doesn't have a lot of money in his savings account  laugh.gif  Do not have to worry he will overspend as this is just a debit card not a credit card. He will only be able to use his own money inside the bank.
*
I see, then, there's no use for us to set the limit for him right? shakehead.gif Oh well.. If he ever finds out, ahaha..

QUOTE(future80 @ Nov 5 2009, 10:08 PM)
it hold certain amount for debit card, and the 'holding ' period is longer than we use debit card at petrol station(3-5days). normally is 2 weeks if i am not wrong.
*
Hm, after CKJeans canceled my order, when I check my PBVE balance it is stated there is an authorized charge..
CKJeans will hold it for 10 days from the date of transaction.
The amount will be refund into the card after 10 days.

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Nov 11 2009, 07:07 PM)
Should be fund transfer. But is the company listed in the PBB payee list ? If you want to transfer the money directly to the said company bank account, then it should be fund transfer. For bill payment should be "Payment/Recharge".
*
Well, I'm not sure what it means with PBB payee list. But they ask me to pay to their PB account.
So, it should be fund transfer right?
Is there any statement produced after we have successfully made the transfer?

Yes. There will be a record that you just transfer RMxxxx to xxx-xxxxxx-xxx bank account at xxx Bank.
Some will require you to produce the receipt while some won't. You better check with the company you are going the money to.

Okay, thank you again.. brows.gif

I just got my visa electron card [Public Bank] today and was wondering how to check the statement online because I want the confirmation code from paypal to confirm my card as valid or do I need to wait for the monthly statement? That would be a bother  mad.gif

Btw, adding funds from electron into paypal.. possible?
*
Wait for your first monthly statement la.. You'll get the code there.

pls don't marah me.
just some noob questions.
whats the different btw PB visa electron vs PB visa debit card?

both can use to verify paypal account?
*
PB visa electron is a card of it's own. Not attached to any account. You can only topup your card by ATM or counters..
PB visa day to day is linked to your PB savings account.

Yes, both can be used to verify Paypal.

PBVE is good.. A standalone debit card. Not attached to a bank account. If lost, only the card and money left inside it.
smile.gif

One of the most useful thing I've ever signed up for.
Online payment for flights, mostly.

Hello.. I've bought from Evisu International site and I've received an email asking me to give them a copy of my Driver's Licence/Passport and any utility bills (past 3 months) for security check.
What is this for?

Is it legit? smile.gif

if your in doubt you can manual email them(ask for verification) through their website and and not through reply

if they request something for verification i think driver license is ok...try to avoid passport if possible
*
Ok, thanks for helping smile.gif

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Jun 17 2010, 12:22 PM)
Yes. I believe it is legit. Yesasia.com sometimes will request such things too.
*
Really? Why is it necessary? Like someone uses my card without my consent?

credit card protect end user...not sure about merchant.....

if someone use stolen card to buy thing and the real owner dispute it....either the bank or the merchant will have bear the cost/losses

they don't know you are using debit card....they will treat every card transaction as credit card to protect themself
*
I see.. Learnt something new biggrin.gif

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Jun 17 2010, 01:26 PM)
I don't know. The lady called me from Hong Kong asked me to email over the requested documents to them and that they will only process the payment once they have verified all the informations.
Actually, they do know whether he/she is using a debit or credit card. They will find out when they process it.
*
Ya, same thing. They told me, if I were not to reply the emails with documents needed in 4 days, my order will be canceled. Another option is using Paypal, to avoid disclosing any of those documents to them.

But, hey.. You guys have convinced me. So, already scanned and sent the documents. wink.gif

Hey, next time you could use Paypal. It's a reputable site hence security is a non-issue. Besides, all your card details will be made known only to you, your card's issuer bank and Paypal only. They will never ever ask you to provide a secondary document too  biggrin.gif
*
Ya, I should just pay by using Paypal. Haha..
Thanks Miles! But, Evisu won't do bad things with the information sent, right? sweat.gif

Guys, have something to ask. You know the brochures included with the card monthly statement?
Comes with promotions. The 0% Interest, phones sold by KTS Klang?

Can this be deducted automatically every month by using a debit card? smile.gif
