i just register a public bank debit card on public bank road show today which i think is better than public bank visa electron ... it has same features on 0.5% cash back and 1% cash bank on Esso or Mobil petrol purchase ... most importantly free for life (not sure only for today application or what)
i think is a new card because i cant get any info about this card on the web ....

I'm going to cancel my PB Visa Electron card and go for the Esso-Mobil debit card. No more annual fees nonsense!

Also because i think "Visa Debit" platform has wider acceptance than the older "Visa Electron".

You should only either go for Maybank or Public Bank. I personally would recommend Public Bank ESSO/Mobil VISA debit card because :
- it doesn't have any annual fee
- free cash withdrawals at any Public Bank ATM
- confirmed can be verified at Paypal
- only 12-year-old to qualify
- a monthly statement for you to keep track of your spending
- 0.5% cash back on all purchases and 1% cash back when you pump petrol at ESSO/Mobil (you probably won't need this but you can still apply for this card)

You will need to fill in the application form and mail it back to Public Bank. It will take about 3 weeks for you to get the card. If you prefer to get it faster, you can apply through byronong. He works for Public Bank. He can help you to process your application faster 

the 8% is top tier rate of rebate for credit card only
while debit card is only 1%

how bout cherry visa & public debit card? also been protected?

sorry to say but mbb points seem a little bit not worthing.

its bcoz u only get 1 point for RM3. minimum points to redeem is 2000 for voucher of RM10 (McD / Watson / Popular / Carrefour).

and to get 2000 points, u need to swipe RM6000

u get 0.8% cashback for any petrol & groceries.

means if u swipe RM6000 for petrol & groceries u can get back rm48 already (rm38 more than MBB!).
even swipe RM1000 already get back RM8

while for others, its 0.3% cashback. swipe RM6000 get back RM18 (still, more RM8 than MBB) ~

but if u looking for card that not linked to bank acc, better go for PBB esso/mobil debit.

1% cashback at esso/mobil and 0.5% elsewhere.

if u never swipe for groceries (and petrol), then for other things, RM6000 can get back RM30 already
