Budget <2.5k.

Mild gaming.

No brand preferences.

Intel/AMD also can.

Asus K40 in consideration list.

Lenovo G450? What's the price + specs?

S42 kinda too overpriced..

sweat.gif
*
Not really because u can get it for 2.2k at Thunder Match in lowyat.Else can get Benq S57 for 2.8k at the same place

If not mistaken the lenovo comes with G210M below 2.5k.

But my advice is take the S42 or the S57(much better GPU) thumbup.gif

O... , thanks guys. But wht do you mean by mobility?
*
Mobility basically means how mobile is something.A lighter laptop is certainly easier to carry around rather than a heavy laptop(>3kg) so in this case, the lighter laptop is said to be more mobile.

Between the two choices:S42 and S57.S42 offers more mobility as it weighs considerably less than the S57.But the S57 has better specs but less mobile since it weighs more

Hey guys.
Is it worth to get a Dell Studio 14 (below 3k) for studies purpose?
Assignments, photoshop, illustrator, flash, in design and of course musics/vids?
Thanks. smile.gif
*
Must it be strictly 14"?If so u should consider Lenovo G450,Benq S42 or Asus K40/50AB.

If 15.6", then i recommend Dell Studio 15.It's an all rounder smile.gif There's also Toshiba L510 with similar specifications smile.gif

QUOTE(kuch @ Jan 15 2010, 11:11 PM)

!!!!ASAP!!!!
*
Not too sure about this.DV4 perhaps?

Must it be HP only? What about other brands?

QUOTE(wuhaha_88 @ Jan 15 2010, 11:26 PM)
1.Whatever brand as long as it is nice to use
2. <RM2500
3. Min 3GB RAM, 320 GB Hard Disk, Window 7 Premium, able to run smoothly when watch movie and install photoshop, movie maker, and some engineering software.
4. 13' & 14'

Thx

Dell Inspiron,Studio series,Lenovo G450,Benq S42 and lastly Asus K40/50AB

QUOTE(adix4 @ Jan 15 2010, 11:44 PM)
Alienware got RM6k below? prefer M15X

and yes the graphic card ok or not for M15X

purpose
gaming,movie,assignment,javascript shits,photoshop , [s]show off[s] , accounting stuff
*
There's a M15X with only GT240M 512 GDDR3.GT240M isn't that powerfull..on par with HD4670 which Dell is providing in its Studio XPS 16 for RM3999.

U can opt to upgrade to GTX260M for another RM609 which would certainly give a major boost

http://configure.ap.dell.com/dellstore/con...c=&oc=T510139MY

But for a gaming machine with a thight budget, better opt for Sager. You'll get much better specifications with this baby

4670 or GT260M better?

thinking of getting XPS because its cheaper  doh.gif  doh.gif

ahhh dillema xps or alienware
*
In the first place, the RM5999 M15X configuration is only providing GT240M and NOT GTS 260M

HD4670 still beats the GT240M even when the latter is in GDDR3

If you're talking about GTS 260M,then it's more superior than the HD4670

erm...mayb dell???but must not be acer...
what about hp dm3?how much is this??
*
Really depends on your needs. If gaming is your concern, i would suggest a laptop which has the best graphics card solution within your budget which the Benq S57 fits in nicely smile.gif

If you just want an all rounder, then opt for Dell Studio 15 with the P8700 configuration. Can hardly go wrong with that smile.gif

Urmm..i dunno the price of DM3 since i'm just a student and i don't go to computer shops everyday sweat.gif But remember that the DM3 is a CULV laptop which in a way, is a whole different league with the other non CULV in terms of performance and battery life

my budget is less than 3k..
im planning to buy asus ul50vt..
but im wondering.. does asus good in terms of quality?
coz i heard some feed back say tat asus is not tat good in their quality..
however.. im considering to buy either hp pavilion dv3 or toshiba satelite L3414 also..
i have 3 choices..which one is better?
*
What type of feedback did u listen to? wink.gif Asus is well known to be a good brand, having good quality laptops with good performance as well.Seldom hear any complain about them.

Like i said to the other forumers before, what are your main purposes using a laptop?Do u want a laptop with the best gaming capability with that budget range?Do u want something sazzy and sexy,at the same time, thin and affordable?Something very portable, light and has a battery life up to 8 hours per charge?

You do know that UL50vt is a CULV right? And can u list the specifications for the S4314?Google is your best friend smile.gif

i heard from a fren of mine who sells lappy... he says tat asus is only good in terms of the name of the brand.. but not in terms of quality..
i jus need a laptop to do my assignment.. i only need to use microsoft word n power point.. n watch movie.. thats it.. no gaming..
wat is CULV? i duno much abt lappy..
sorry.. its not L3414.. it should be S4314..
*
Ask your friend to explain himself why Asus is not good in quality.Ask him to explain in words laugh.gif

CULV literally means Consumer Ultra Low Voltage meaning it consumes much lesser power at the expense of lower performance. Thus, it has a much much higher battery life up to around 8 hours claimed by some forumers here smile.gif

Strictly,no gaming i highly suggest the UL50vt if not the UL80vt smile.gif Both has very appealing looks and solid build quality smile.gif Not stingy on specs too laugh.gif
