I am a total newbie in WoW, only have a single level 30 Warlock on Thaurisan server. Been doing everything solo so far, but I'm now thinking of joining a guild to do some instances. Never joined a guild before so I am pretty shocked by some of the entry requirement that some of these guilds have like the need for high tier gears, achievements and even attends interviews! This all seems very overwhelming to me (heck I've only been playing WoW for a little over a month) so my question is do guilds accept low level newbies like me or do people usually wait until they are level 80 and then look for a guild?

And another thing, is warlocks useless in raids? Whenever i see people recruiting in trade channels none of them ever seem to be looking for a Warlock. Now i feel like i have lowered my chances of joining any guilds/raids by picking a warlock.

the guild that u said are a raiding guild. U can join social guild first or lvling guild before u reach lvl 80. Once u in lvl 80 it all about effort and finding a right guild for u.

well, joining a guild is like involving in a relationship. depending on personal characteristics, it could be intimidating for the 1st time. but at least u have someone u can talk with, and support u in any hardship u'll be encountering. u could be attached to the relationship as you grow. but if u feel like, hey this relationship isnt working out, then u could break up and look for a new one. it's all experience and finding the one that suits u. u're still 30, so go explore.

n all classes are usefull in raids. it's just the matter of how good u play your role.

what you need is look for a guild promotion from the trade chat that said either the following: casual; leveling guild; LF malaysians/singaporians, these guild should be fine for you.

LOTH is fine, the malaysian guild (i just don't understand why people hate them and calling them names in trade channels)

warlocks are not useless, people these days just see warlock as a lower dps than mage, with no raid buff/benefite which is not true. or there just too many warlock out there, so no one need to look for them.

and don't worried about the gear score requirement, achievement to join some raid, these are just some jerks that can't take wipe and wants things easy and assume all the loots got their name on it.
you are better off without them.

Raiding guild is not a place to join for new players. They usually ask a lot of questions and until you have devoured a thick manual on how to gem, how to enchant, whats your rotation, why this spell over the other spell. Just forget about it.

....and lots and lots of DRAMA

You will be better off joining a casual guild and do 10mans. Just because they don't raid 6 nights/week doesn't mean they don't know how to play their class. Hell, I first started my priest in a guild that only do 5mans. I followed his advice till this day. Some people will be an ass and you shouldn't spent any energy worrying about them.

Sure, if they don't mind teaching a thing or two to a newbie. My char's name is Telemnar on the Horde side.

Yeah i am now reading a couple of guides to play as a warlock better. I even need a guide to understand all the acronyms that the average WoW player uses. Half the time i enter a major city, i have no idea what the players are talking about in the trade channel but i am slowly learning, but there is a lot to absorb.

You are low level, barely started a month, but are already ambitious about main raiding? What's the rush...

I mean, if I were at your situation I would just hang around, do quests and rep, slowly gear up through 5mans, PvP a lot.

any class can be superb - as long as its played right

unlike those fanatic-numbering-gs-jokers, raids these days are not intense on gear requirements

some guild have indeed cleared ulduar in blues/greens

but do note that having better gear is always a good thing - and for hardmodes, good gear is pretty much a must

blizzard have officially recognize the GS frenziness as they have address it on the forums - as they do consider shutting the addon down, they'd prefer if players use the armory and be more generous; rather having them take serious actions

there's no such thing as which class is superb or crap!

every class is designed to bring balance to the force.

like other has posted above... you are only Lv 30... and started less than 3 months.

what's the rush?

I was doing solo most of the time for leveling... if need help, you can always "press I" to "look for a group" to do quest or go instance.

I dunno abt other servers, but in Thau, pretty much not an issue.

try to enjoy the content/process slowly... you still have a long way to learn and get to know the world of Azeroth.

Take it easy!

no body plays like a pro from day 1... every1 has their noob days! wink.gif
