thanks for your comments bro...
HT does seem to be a little 'off' with this figure...

btw, his custom is really extreme thumbup.gif  even got the gauntlet on the arm... great work biggrin.gif
to be fair, he did get stepped on the chest by Iron Monger, but nevertheless I agree... the sculpted damage is too focused on the chest... they didnt even bother to carve some scratch on the helmet... everything else is just painted sweat.gif

but I think the biggest setback is the changed HS, totally 'potong stim'...
it's the John conner BD case all over again doh.gif

oh that hongkie custom the battle scars on his new battle damage, thats why got gauntlet like the new wan

rogershah: bro looking back on your iron man mark III custom battle damage, now it looks better than the current release Mark III battle damage.

Hottoys just couldn't pull off the mass market production battle damage painting effect on the IMBD

The battle scars on the new IMBD looks nothing like the prototype pics. The only thing i like about the new IMBD is the colour of the hot rod red.

Here is another custom by a hongkie collector called nickwcy  drool.gif  shocking.gif

under circumstances like these, i guess you can request for a refund...

but you should try calling XL HQ, just to confirm...

you can do that?
asking for refund from the preorder money.. just because of the IMBD head sculpt issue?

the refund was suggested by the hot toys themselves .. but im sure when the IMBD was open for preorder, when everything wasnt entirely confirm; i mean, the pix and sources were just not final.. or probably havent released yet.. most ppl already placed their preorders..

i mean, regardless about any issues .. ppl preordered because of the item itself; ironman battle damage.. we dont even know yet how the final product will look like..

so for the benefit of a doubt, asking refund from XL is a bit over react ... unless, XL can do the same from their suppliers .. if you cancel, but XL cant cancel.. poor XL later on ..

hot toys should retract all their imbd releases, and reproduce another.. or at least make a separate part; like the sarah connor above; and attach together wit imbd box ..

Well regardless of the issue with the headsculpt on the IMBD, yes you can get a refund from XL.

For those thinking of getting a refund, you don't have to worry about XL, cause when a friend of mine was just asking whether can refund, they gladly say yes, because the waiting list behind that didn't pre-order the IMBD is very very long.

Anyone would gladly snap up those who wanna cancel their order.

As for me i am still getting mine, cause besides the headsculpt, the upgraded wrist gauntlet on right arm, ejective shoulder micro munitions, retractable countermeasure dispenser and new hot rod red paint still makes it a worthy buy.

Cheers

Im not saying everyone should ask for refund... I was just replying to bro Naskie, because as I remembered, one guy did ask to cancel his PO when the batmobile was delayed for almost a year in the XL forum... although I'm not sure wether he got his deposit back or not, that's why need to confirm first with XL first

but i dont think people would start asking for refund though... because IMDB does have some new interesting features...

Yes, you can get back your pre-order deposit under any circumstances
(no money/hate the product/etc etc).

But XL will forfeit 10% of your deposit fees. Maybe this charges can be waived if you talk to them nicely.

Anyway, I still waiting for Ironman BD to arrive XL. Cant wait to pickup mine.

yeahh... i think the headscuplt issue on imbd was too exagerrated .. hot toys always monitor their product qualities... the issue wasnt about the quality, but more to the preferences from collectors around the world.. they like it this way, others like it that way... so it's subjective.. and the added features sure make imbd worth to get ..

Kojun sculpt is a main draw... ebay of his sculpt (released by HT) can go to more than USD 40.. sometimes to USD70++ that's 25 to 40% BDIM Mk3's price

can say its a major blow to their international and local market.

And it really make me come to think in a collector's point of view about whether i should pre-order or just wait for new toys from them to arrive at local stores.

Seeing that nothing is certain since licensing is really anybody's guess.

I'll probably stop after Leonidas and T-800 which i pre-ordered, then see how it goes from there.
Good thing also easy for my wallet hehe biggrin.gif

Most people cancel BD because they wanna get Ironman II, headsculpt just a lame excuse.
