any tips/guides in buying your first lcd/led tv.
main use: astro(no hd/3d, normal punya) game(ps3) budget:2k size:40
also this may sound vague, but between samsung and sony wch is "ok" if i were to use it for the above purposes and i know its highly connected to budget and size.

i know there is a certain type but not sure of the name wch its called, helps remove dust better then normal towels/cloth and at the same time wont leave any scratches on the screen.

we all have some sort of knowledge on IR/burn ins.but on what scale or what signs on the tv is considered as IR/burn ins?? take my set for example, when i test it out with the coloured full screen images from the break in images i dont notice anything, any mark, shape, word, ghosting images etc.same goes if its in static.now if turn my ps3 on, play a game also i notice nothing.and ive done all this with variable contrast/brightness settings, stood very close to the telly and far too, and still nothing. but when i switch to the next hdmi channel(hdmi2), if you stood really close i do notice a faint "ghosting like" images of the tvs on screen menu's etc(menu, volume bar).so does this constitute as IR/burn ins??

QUOTE(low98944 @ Feb 4 2012, 11:38 AM) Probably exchange latest model for you or upgrade your model for you. owh that sounds good.i certainly dont want a lower model like the X/D/DT/E series since im a fan of plasma.but again who i ask for if the need arises??the shop i bought or the manufacturer? QUOTE(gkl83 @ Feb 4 2012, 12:08 PM) i doubt the manufacturer will replace another panel (so called repair) for you instead if they have the spare part... what do you mean?do you mean they will reapir it or do you mean these kind of damage they wont repair instead replace a new set??

any of you guys here has any experinace on requesting/demanding a replacement for your tele??
i mean how its done?do we have to wait a rep from manufacturer come and see whats the problem first or we can straight claim for new one based on how long the tele was with us irrelevant of the what ever the damage is?

QUOTE(Gaia34 @ Feb 7 2012, 07:32 AM) maybe the problem comes from your ps3 nah, the line was there even with the ps3 turned off, hdmi cable disconnected and was apparent on all channels(av1,2,3 hdmi1,2,3,pc, tv, and sd card).it was there with those things connected and turned on too. but suddenly it disappeared and until now no sign of anything....some thing went loose inside the tv??i dont know im just puzzled by its sudden "self healing". QUOTE(zeone @ Feb 7 2012, 10:22 AM) Me not believe in playing detective... Be happy yr prob is gone!! well when it comes to machinery humans built, we NEED to know why it went wrong in the first place.its not some thing humanly or other worldly for it to resolve by self lol! for now it looks fine, but i dont want to be in sticky when it happens again.thats the reason for me to know what actually happened (also there may be the fact that im an engineer and it bugs the hell out of me to know the cause )

QUOTE(zeone @ Feb 7 2012, 11:54 AM) Yup, I kno & can understand that feeling...that there's alwaz a reason/ root cause for anything & everything that goes wrong with man-made things... That, coupled with the inherent fear of possibility that it'll rear its ugly head once more? And the cycle goes on...and on...? However, at the end of it all, we reflect & then feel, understand that wat we only wanted was for that thing to work well...nothing more, nothing less. True? And the cause cld b as insignificant & obscure like a slightly improper connection which was eliminated by even some unknown vibration...even heat? And it might nvr ever crop up ever agin? hope so like that.im totally in love with mah tele, and i do hope it stays fit and healthy, no more weird signals of sakit
