i wanna ask, what is the theory behind plasma 1024x768 reso to display 720p or 1080p 16:9 aspect ratio screen without stretching or distort the entire thing? because 1024x768 is a 4:3 aspect ratio, but i see plasma tv the shape is same like 16:9, right? it doesnt look like an older boxed lcd monitor which is displaying 4:3 ratio..

still thinking

42" VS 40"

big different?
*
hmm, i tried to watch a 40inch that i tot it is a 42inch, i felt that it is quite small, then i compare another 42inch without realizing the previous one was 40inch, i was wondering why this one looks bigger, and more comfortable, i just realized that the first one is 40inch after watching closely at the tag. My viewing distance is about 10feet..

Btw, i just found out from my own question that actually plasma pixel is not square, it is rectangular pixel, so actually it is displaying 16:9 aspect ratio with 1024x768 reso.. but how they do conversion those i not yet discover... it is still good enuf for motion but if wan do pc input, abit headache because pc output 1024x768 as 4:3 ratio, then it would look funny on a plasma.. maybe need to do something if wan use pc input.. so less hassle if get 1080p plasma panel..

It is true that nowadays electronics is not as durable as last time. U know why TV is cheaper to buy compared to last time? Because u pay for the materials used biggrin.gif pay more for better, pay less for lesser smile.gif And another things is because of lead free policy. Now all solder is lead free and it is less durable and more problem. This is a problem I know from amd engineer, while I working there as intern. So it isn't. Bullshit,i is real shit smile.gif

Guess I'm having the same problem with ben3003 here.

Might be getting a new TV soon. Really hate that super smooth motion in movies. I think it was last year I think where I saw a 120Hz tv was displaying Avatar at super smooth motion. Damn fake and feel like wanna vomit also.

All I'm asking is how to remove that "effect"? Is there an option in the TV? What sort of TV I should be looking at?

Budget probably around RM5-7k or so

Hey man, long time no see, remember me? We used to play badminton in JJB court smile.gif But i left KL already, cant join u guys. Good to hear ppl having the same feel as i do smile.gif in fact alot of ppl doesnt really like the smooth effects, waay too fake. A movie is meant to be like tat, the smooth motion thingy makes the scene looks like got trail behind when the ppl move.. a very smooth trail... If for sports and reality show, or TV shows, it is fine because for me, movie are shot like that and meant to be watched like that smile.gif Some ppl might be dizzy to see all the fast flying scene at movie, so they need this kind of things smile.gif

Sure I remember you smile.gif Left KL already? Ahh no wonder haven't heard from you for some time now. Let's see if we can play again in the future yeah? biggrin.gif

Do you know whether there's an option to turn off that effect?

Yeah, but currently outstation at Lumut, Perak but i am based in Miri. Hopefully there is a chance smile.gif i think there should be, because i heard if u play games with the effects on, you will have input lag.

LCD TV=LED TV in terms of panel used. Only difference is, the lighting they use, LCD use CCFL tube while LED use LED, both also on the edge lighting. So he say normal astro will blur on LED is true, while byond is blur on LCD is total bullshit. LED only have better contrast ratio than LCD but nowhere near Plasma black depth and color reproduction. LED TV should be called LED LCD TV, this is the real term.
