I recently got the Philips 46PFL8008 3D Smart LED TV. It has a number of apps like the movie on demand, social TV, online TV, Maxdome, Vimeo, etc on its Smart TV dashboard.

Im planning to have a Maxis or Time Home Fibre internet installed. Would i be able to access all these functions if i connect the internet?

Guys can recommend me a 60inch tv? I prefer TV with features that boost the image quality of tv enough, my current choice is Sharp Aquos Quattron LC60LE940X, is there any TV that have have good feature such as quattron technology from sharp without those shitty 3D or smart features?

Hi guys,

Any recommendation for good 50" inch non-smart tv? Plasma or LED is ok.
Seems like most of the big-a$$ tv comes with smart tv feature.
Budget abt 3k,

Thanks!

Need a recommendation for Smart 55" - 60" LED TV. Will connect to HTPC/console + external audio. Don't really care for 3D, but prefer passive to active.
Distance around 10ft from sofa to TV.

Budget around 4K - 5K.

Previously looked at (prices from Lazada)
LG 60LN5700 - RM4,199
Sharp LC60LE650M - RM3,399 (non smart though)

Passive 3D (hmm, but the FPR filter is giving me doubts)
Sony KDL55W804A - RM4,799
LG 55LA7400 - a bit pricey though at RM4,999, and concerns on input lag

Any other recommendations ? Or wait for the 2014 models ? I can wait till June.
Also any good AIO home theater set to recommend ?

LG 55LA8600 is selling for RM4999 now, check out Yesmember website. Though if you can get much lower price for LA7400, by all mean go for it, read the reviews, not much difference between 2 models anyway
Sony KDL55W804A is out of stock everywhere I went, not sure if you still can find it. Lowest price I found is RM4599 in Desa Home Theatre, followed by RM4670 in 1E&E, and RM4699 in TBC, but all of them no stock (TBC not sure, didn't go back to check)

I read reviews on the internet that 51f5500 has pretty bad glares. Is it that bad? I am planning to buy this.

I'm looking to buy a tv, max budget is RM3k preferably above 46" size. Any recommendation?

If it was a backlight LED failure it would be repairable if your sony uses direct led.

From the screen shot, image looks WARPED horizontally so its obviously NOT the LED fault. Its more like a failed Tab bonding (loose tab connects to the LCD panel) or a failed T-con board, unfortunately neither is repairable, basically this fault needs a panel and tcon board replacement.

thqnk meaculpa for the explanantion, eventho' i d not know whats is T-con board, basicaslly how much the cost to repair?i believe the warranty is no longer valid cos its more than 2 years edi and sending to sony service centre would cost me bombs i guess.

Most likely the bonding on the tab becomes loose, it cant be repaired. Its termal bonded, can only be fixed at factory facility.

New tv i guess.
