Spent a week and a half in Iceland in Dec.
Amazing place !
The first week was just raining everyday day which was a slight annoyance but could still do the sights and travel around as the roads were not closed. But because of the rain which means there are clouds all over, could not view the northern lights. So went down to Barcelona for a few days and came back to Iceland the following week when the Aurora forecast was good and saw the lights for two consecutive nights :-)
Will definitely be back again one day, most probably during summer or autumn as it's much more beautiful then.
I'll do a proper write up soon. But I'll say this - if anyone is thinking of going, stop thinking and just go !
