how long does it usually take for motorola phones to reach malaysia? with nokia, SE and HTC i think phones get released almost simultaneously across the globe.
this is what i do not like about these companies such as motorola. they are too dependent on carrier. ive been waiting to get a palm pre, but it is still no where near an international release after more than 5 months since it was released. even GSM versions have been available in europe for over 4 months. now the hardware is outdated and the thrill is gone.
i believe motorol's cliq / dext is still not available in Malaysia either. which does not speak well for a droid release any time soon.
what do you think?
this might also mean that people who want a next gen phone might have to chose from N900 or the HTC HD2.

someone mentioned an importer? yeah that might be a good idea.
and no, i was not asking if google will be making the hardware, i know they are not, at least at the moment. i was merely wondering about whether motorola had a big presence here in malaysia, because i really havent seen much motorola phones in my visits to lowyat. but that might just due to motorola not having a phone that is even glance-worthy for the past few years.

am considering between HTC HD2, N900 and Droid myself. Lack of a keyboard is glaring on HD2, but i think i will go with what ever has the best battery life.
So far it is looking very good on droid. will know about the other two within a couple of weeks i suppose.

yeah UK prices are almost always more expensive, because they will sell a $ 100 device for 100 pounds. This is quite common and widely known.

anyone knows how to reliably order / import phones and other gadgets not officially available in Malaysia.
am willing to pay a bit of a premium to bring droid, from a reputable source?

what exactly is the problem with getting an AP set? I assume we still get about 1 years warranty? So what is the hesitation?

im still wondering how much battery life you are getting out from the droid, with constant facebook, twitter and other updates over 3g, maybe with moderate web browsing.
now that there are quite a lot of you with droids, i want know how things fare?

yeah, actually the integration with fb and twitter was one main reason i was considering this phone. i read that such integration was provided in android 2.01 it self, so it is kind of surprising to see that not included here??? i mean, was it deliberately taken out?
secondly, does this facebook app, replicates the function of the droid integration.. i heard some talk on forums that it only does some of the stuff from the original application.

well, integration means.. your contact list will automatically show the status updates from your fb contacts, their contact picture will be updated from facebook, you will get the option to post a fb messege to any contact straight from the phone's contact book.. everything is integrated basically.. which is really neat.
opening an app each time sucks. especially considering what i just said before has been done by HTC and even Motorola (at various levels) quite some time ago.

what about fb's very high battery use? mine is almost down after 7 hours with fb app taking about 80 percent of battery use.
