I read a previous post on rooting but it's different from what i see on other sites.

Some other sites root using the SD card. Are there many different roms for the milestone?

Maybe try deleting the saved AP and then reconnect it again and save fresh. I assume your router AP is protected with WEP/WPA? Doublecheck the saved login settings too.

I've had a few problems with WIFI connection problems before and mostly its related to the router/settings or physical barriers reducing the signal rather than the phone. One way to test is to go to another AP (neighbour's, friend's, maybe starbucks etc) and see if you have any connection problems. Preferably test this on an AP that has close to full signal.

Also Android marketplace does have a few WIFI management apps. You can try installing those and see if they can help. Sometimes, its just screwy compatibility between router and the unit (i've had several laptops with same settings but one can connect and another just can't, change router then no problem).

Edit: haha i just realized without wifi, u can't access marketplace other than with 3g/HSPDA. Well that might limit being able to install apps if you don't have a data plan.

Weird thing is i can't connect to my home router only. I can connect to public wifi just fine though. It's probably a compatibility thing. I'll just roll with 3g now.

My other issue is with the blue tooth though. my PS3 blue tooth can't be seen it's weird. Are there specific head sets for this?

Oh yeah... this thing kicks ass. I'm still wondering if i should root it or not. Mainly to get access to the market place.

is there a good GPS mapping service for the milestone (for malaysia)? And is it possible to get it onto my little milestone without rooting?

will the rsd lite root 4.5.3 still work if i have android 2.1? And is that the only file i need? i have this SBF file too but i'm not too sure what it does. Everyone talks about RSDlite but not about the SBF. Trying to get clarification

Ah.. i see. So if i simply want access to the paid for marketplace i should use a different method of rooting?

I've seen another method that drops a file in the memory card and lets the phone update itself from there.

I may be getting the terminology (definition of rooting) wrong so forgive me.

Physical keyboard and lower price is what did it in for me. Having a physical keyboard is SOOO much better than relying on the touch screen keyboard (which is annoying) only. No matter the phone.. touch screen boards are annoying.

Physical keyboard makes typing at least 4x faster.

Terry! price drop?! sad.gifsad.gifsad.gif

seriously though... physical keyboard (that's better than what most reviewers say about it) is like super selling point.

It's a little choppy.. but it still has more functionality and definitely more versatility than the iPhone.

iPhone is like a dumbsmart phone because it only lets you use it the way Apple wants you to. Milestone is like... a normal smartphone then lets you actually own the device and do stuff you want to do on it.

Though no roms yet i think.

Remember... windows 6.5 is a piece of crap. Worst with the fact that Windows phone 7 will be coming out and of the year ending support for 6.5

Any 6.5 phone is pretty much a waste. Unless you buy phone every 3 months...

Hey, i'm having issues trying to view my milestone's SD card. It shows the drive but says there's no disc in. I've installed the moto update drivers too.

it was working before this.. i'm on windows 7 x64 (i installed 64 bit drivers)
