Hey guys, is 64bit OS will use up more cpu???
*
for me seems to use less...

but Vista x64 and Win7 x64 use more RAM than the x86 flavour, mainly cuz they need to support 32-bit stuff as well...

P8700 is gud enuf...

the extra 0.13GHz is not going to make a lot of difference...

plus, P8700 consumes 10W less power than T9550 during load...

i ve a sticky i7 thread in the Mobile Computing forum...

Please ditch McAfee while you have the opportunity to do so. It is the most intrusive, sluggish and overall irritating AV solution I've had the displeasure of using.

So my suggestion would be to uninstall it completely and get something better such as Microsoft Security Essentials which is totally free and takes up minimal system resources. It's a damn highly rated AV to boot.
*
+2...

it integrates well with Windows, and combines together with Windows Defender...

it takes abt 4MB of RAM only...

not lyk dat r???
+, evry1 nid 2 get dat win7 disc r???

well, it's all up to u...

for me, when i opened the box of my laptop... i ran benchmark, then straight away format, deleted the recovery partition, and repartition the HDD to the way i want...

after that i look for my own drivers on the web, to make sure i ve the latest driver...

and even now, i am also on the look out for new drivers once a mth...

this is how u keep ur hardware at tip top condition, as far as driver is concerned... new drivers would iron out bugs that were found, improve performance or stability or both, and in rare cases, adds new features as well...

at the minimal, ATi releases a new driver every mth...

hi guy,

can my studio xps 16 with ati 4670 installed ATI desktop drivers??

thanks
*
no u can't do that directly...

if u want to do that, u need to first get the Mobility Modder from DriverHeaven, install it, download the Catalyst for desktop, run it to unpack the file, cancel the installation of Catalyst, then run Mobility Modder to mod the unpacked Catalyst, then u can install it for laptop...

looks troublesome, but that's how u get the latest driver running for Mobility Radeon...

Sorry if I have to come out with this question, but nevertheless I still don't get it.
A laptop versus a desktop.

Laptop specification with processor 2.8GHz with Mobility Radeon 4670 and 4GB of RAM, while desktop specification with processor of 2.0Ghz with same graphic card and 3GB of RAM.

But playing game wise, the laptop endured less FPS than the one at desktop.

What could be the problem?
*
desktop HD4670 runs at a faster clock than the laptop counterpart...

Interesting...
Dirt 2
Recommended Specifications - Enhanced for DirectX 11
OS: Microsoft Windows Vista or Windows 7
Processor: Intel Core i7 or AMD Phenom II

Does that means its optimized for HT? Like RE5?
*
that's a very interesting spec...

i mean, juz Phenom II only can mean Phenom II x2... laugh.gif

Power Throttle Issue(AC-Power) on Dell Studio XPS 1645

http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=437800

It seems that these ppl get replacement for their AC Power of 90W to 130W. I see dell Msia still selling their SXPS1645(Corei7) with 90W..

Just a warning for future potential buyers.
*
not a surprise, since Core i7's TDP is 45W...

Excuse my ignorance, what's the difference between the Dell & Intel WiFi cards?

Btw, are you going to get the black color one?
*
Intel WiFi card allows u to have a shiny Centrino 2 sticker, other than that, there's nothing much in terms of functionality...
