processing power wise (photoshop etc),it's quite worth while to upgrade. the AMD is jus plainly inferior when it comes to processing & battery life = efficiency

it's a 1GB ati 5470 ddr3. would provide some extrakick from the ddr2 4570, 800mhz vs 600mhz memory speed

Latest Catalyst 10.3 works well, the 1.2V still works, thus the more than 730-740MHz core clock is possible just like 10.3 beta smile.gif

But download the mobility one, not the official. Google for it

Why not the official one? Shouldnt it be better?

Why not? Because the official one is just for desktop, not laptop GPU, understood? Mobility Modder don't support Catalyst 10.x

Sound from speaker or from what? Probably nothing serious, just the magnet recoil during shut down or restart.

Yes, thats true.

But one thing I noticed is when I use generic Windows driver I don't have those sound, but if I use VIA driver or SRS those sounds comes out. I wonder why

I dont get the cracking sound because I'm using windows 7 generic audio driver. It got higher volume than VIA driver.

Plus I always got mute sound with VIA driver.

I no longer use SRS, instead I use the VIA equalizer to make the speaker louder.

The new 10.3 driver works well, I been replaying few older games, like H.A.W.X, Crysis Warhead and CnC3 KW. Performance is great, and with 1.2V I could reach impossible frequencies like 780MHz core smile.gif But you need hefty cooling, like remove back cover and higher fan speed to achieve those. I'm planning to buy 125W power adapter for more stability as the stock one, although it is stable, runs pretty hot when gaming

Is the new 10.3 driver working well? Because i tried to installed it in both dGPU and powerxpress mode after modding with mobility modder and it gave an error that the graphic driver cannot be update. I used driver sweeper to clear away the existing driver but the installation after that gave the same error message...

[Edited] Sorry, I have just gone through the previous posts. Seems I got myself the official 10.3. Will change to the mobility one...

I done few more mods, one is I make a hole on the back cover to feed air to the fan to make this laptop more mobile, without the back cover its vulnerable to dust, water etc. With this hole, and a dust filter, it work just as well as without the back cover. Plus I remove the back grille just for fun. I'll upload the pics soon
