The Athlon in laptop is just the name, it bears little resemblance to its desktop counterparts. Its just a Turion with only 2 power planes instead of 3

ZM carries Turion Ultra name with 2x1MB L2 cache, while RM is just normal Turion with 2x512kB L2 cache

For the Bios update, it may be a fix to accompany the re-released ATi driver.

As for the VGA driver 8.673, it is still the same version that was released in November but this time it " may "work.
The previous 2 release was miserable enough for everyone so I can't say anything yet.

And liverpool got pawned.

No noticeable performance increase in my opinion. Well shouldn't expect much from driver update right. icon_rolleyes.gif

VGA Driver is still buggy. ARRGHHH.... mad.gif

Relax, I'm not bothered with PowerXpress anymore after my lightweight mod, as it can reach 2 hours usage with batteries in dGPU. Like you said, don't expect much from driver update, if the old one works then why upgrade?

Anyone tried Cat 9.12 yet? I'll try after my final exam finished tomorrow

I think it can even support ZM CPU. But its bloody hard to find, and expensive. I found some at eBay but costs as much as RM7XX+ for the 2.4GHz model (the top model is 2.5GHz)
*
if cost around RM7xx..
better i spend that money on other things brows.gif

hmm.. come to think of it.. power express doesnt help much in decreasing battery drain in k50ab.. its just a layman's feel that it helps..

and from what i see.. it does decrease the overall temperature of the CPU.. and it feels kinda laggy after prolong usage..

frankly.. tis lappy's power usage isnt that good..

The HD3200 does gives some extra minutes more than HD4570. But not much to shout about.

u just have to run the whole catalyst installer.. that will do the job.. theres a warning down there.. screen may flicker when u update the driver.. its normal..

for the bios.. its been told many times.. maybe najmods shud include in the first page..

download the bios files.. extract into root of HDD.. den restart.. go into bios.. advance. start easy flash. select the extracted bios file..
