the capabilities of the 4XXX series audio is here..
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1029603

also detailed discussion with the new 5XXX series here..

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1179134

most of these discussion concentrate more in detail about the audio portion which is usually lacking in other PC hardware reviews...

you remember the time when normal DVD player comes with normal component SD or svideo out, and then those DVDP with upscaling 720p/1080i capabilities came out and can unlock extra 5-10% more detail from DVDs than even the most expensive 480p SD DVDP...

it's gonna be like this again.. if your display has higher resolution.. and you can upscale blu-rays..

of coz in your case 30inch LCD aint gonna give you much much sitting 8feet away compared to a 50inch 1080p kuro.. biggrin.gif

I mean that distance vs resolution thing still applies.. cos our eyes can't resolve minute details after a certain distance.. unless you got 20:10 vision instead of 20:20.. biggrin.gif

as for large plasma beyond 1080p or even 2k.. probably not normal products.. industrial range kua..

but I know CRT projectors via VGA connection can do beyond 1080p even back in 2001...

I've had this for 4 months already and paid RM 230 for it. Bought it from Low Yat. So far playing blu-rays are excellent. Probably loads as fast as a PS3 (I have one as well). Cool thing about the BD-ROM is ofcourse ripping blu-rays (for backup ofcourse!!)

you use what software to do ripping to what format, iso, m2ts, mkv?
this type of backup will take up a lot of disk space.
