I'm watching this thread, waiting for someone on this forum to finally buy the phone. So if it's coming out on Wednesday, I assume I will hear it from you guys here.

Whoever gets it first, please share your unboxing or first look review here - especially about the reported faults.

I tested on the white box it came with, the back of a white Hero and a piece of white paper. The guys at the shop was very accomodating.

Keyboard lag no issue. I wasvtyping fast like mad, no prob.

Clean the screen, no dust.

Scroll through week, day, month and agenda view on Calendar, no problem.

Volume up and down ok on music and ringer.

Will test sms later tonight.

Been playing with the phone since I got home. Surfing and posting through the phone now. The capacitive keyboard just needs some getting used to. But much better than iPhone. Bigger screen ma.

Cannot type with fingernail anymore. Still love this phone. Super fast and very responsive.

I think its the same at the shops everywhere now. Salesgirl told me that they usually sell RRP until they decide to do promo with freebies - which is unlikely for new phone like HD2. Told them if they start giving freebies, I'll come back to claim. Hahaha.

It's RM 2899. Box includes standard charger and headphones cool.gif . Leather case and 8GB Micro SD. The new standard is 2 years SIS Malaysia warranty. thumbup.gif So that's good. No screen protector - I guess cos it's capacitive touchscreen. I heard it's less sensitive if you put screen protector on capacitive screen.

As requested :
Owner Name : Winnie
Price : RM 2899
Shop : PDA Expert, Low Yat Plaza
ROM : 1.48.707.2 (71294) WWE

Since this is official thread, we should start gathering Owner's List.

One more question : How do I organise apps into folders on "Start" menu?

I heard that a user ran 15 apps at one go...but suffered no lag whatsoever brows.gif That truly shows how high and mighty the SnapDragon performs

Check out this video of multi-tasking on the HD2 I found on YouTube.

Hi, anyone seen the car kit for HD2 on sale yet? And for those in KL, is it advisable to purchase from Fresh Gear?
*
I want to buy a car charger as well. Planning to go check out this weekend. Worst case, if there isn't any accessories yet, I am guessing standard car charger with micro USB should work, right?

QUOTE(HSLimMic @ Nov 26 2009, 09:50 AM)
BTW regarding sales, anyone manage to find a full body protector for HD2?
*
If you go to eBay, just search for HTC HD2 case / skin, you should find some leather cases and 1 seller in HK selling silicone skin, I just booked mine.

Added on November 26, 2009, 12:28 pmBTW, anyone got screen protector? any recommendations?

I think all of ours comes with th same 1.48 ROM default. Check the owner's list again.

Let's hope they have another newer built to fix this for us here, too.

Looking for a RSS reader, the stock RSS reader that came with the HD2 isn't that good as it doesn't download the images and only text.
*
I am using the stock reader too, but I have no problems displaying images. I think it depends on the RSS feed of the sites or version (Atom vs RSS 1.0 vs RSS 2.0). The other option is to try this app - Speeed Reader which syncs up to your Google Reader subscription. It is finger friendly navigation.

I'm having the mailbox problem mentioned earlier. When I tap on the item, it doesn't open the mail and I need to go to Inbox to open the mail.

I wonder if I can go to "Remove Program" and remove the SMS hotfix? Will that fix the problem? Since I never had the SMS outbox issue before. I just installed all the hotfix, just in case.

Added on December 21, 2009, 4:17 pmAnother thing, I noticed that when I put my phone on standby, the Slide to Unlock is not there anymore. When I have an incoming SMS / mail, the phone starts and the screen turns on. This is very dangerous if the phone is in my bag or pocket, I might accidentally press something.

Anyone facing the same issue?

Press the power button for a few seconds. Choose Lock Device and you are back in business.

I'm suddenly getting frustrated with my HD2. It was super fast and super breezy when I got it. But lately, it's been showing lag and if I swipe over the tabs too fast, it will hang.

Sometimes, when I'm trying to send an SMS or e-mail, going through my phonebook (I have over 1000 contacts) it hangs. Sometimes, it lags but I would still be typing. Then it hangs and comes back to life in 20-30 seconds.

Sometimes, I turn it on from standby, slide to unlock and ... yup, hang!

I have to restart my phone several times, sometimes even have to remove battery to restart. I don't like this. I don't know why this is happening now.
