hope you guys can help me out..

i just bought the sony bravia KLV-40S550A for my PS3(its the only FULL HD in the S-series). I plug in my PS3 via the HDMI cable and it shows 1080p mode while in the XMediaBar. But when i start Batman Arkham Asylum, it changes mode to 720p. It's the same as well for Resident Evil 5. i've tried tweaking some settings on both the LCD and ps3 but it seems to still be playing in 720p.

How do i get it to run games in 1080p?

Some games' resolution is native to 720p. hence the revertment to 720p. I dont think there are many games supporting true 1080p atm. Think GT5P does support 1080p...

post at playstation FAQ section dude..

try disabling 720p in the ps3 display setting..it works for me

but games that dont support 1080p at all will be downgraded to 540p or something
