Before any confusion, no games on the PS3 has its native resolution at 1920x1080. 1080p games on these are just usually software scaled.

Back on topic, you can add Batman to the list but there are several problems when the game is running in 1080p.
And yes, Dead Space is also 1080p.

Some games don't have 1080p written on its back, but yet it could go into 1080p. They are very few however.

Also: -

Flower
Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix
Marvel vs Capcom 2
Pixel Junk Monsters (not sure on this one, need to re-check)

All these games can be scaled to 1080p.

Correction, most ps3 exclusive titles (if not all) are developed at 1080p in native scale. Most ps3 games however are 720p range, thus upscaling is used to achieve 1080p resolution. I suppose that is what you mean by software scale.

For most games, its native resolution is written at the back of the game box, but some users complaint that whats written at the back is untrue after trying out the games on their full HD tv.

There are a couple of PSN games however.... which are done in 1920x1080 though.
My mistake, not all games on the PS3 aren't done in 1080p natively.

But these games are only PSN games. Not retail.

I guess its all depends on your lcd monitor/tv and the viewing distance. Most game titles have no problem upscaling to full hd (provided it supports 1080), but there are cases where the image would look a little blur and less sharp on the edges.

For example Xbox360 games which are not native 1080, but upscaled using hardware mode....they do look very nice don't they? So a ps3 game with only 720p resolution would still look amazing regardless of upscaling or not.

Its all in the finer details.

I set my PS3 to output the native display, which usually are 720p. Looks better that way than upscaling it to 1080p, at least to me.

GTA4 is native 720p, actually its lesser than that.... google it.

Yes, its much better to view the games in its original resolution. Regarding the GTAIV, I will check and confirm. Thx.

If u are focusing only on gaming, i think 1080p LCD is not really needed... but for me, 1080p LCD is essential because i'm watching BD movies as much as playing games... icon_rolleyes.gif

If so, many of the games on the list isn't 1080p native.
I'm talking about the game's internal resolution, not after software scaling which is pulled up to 1920x1080 (or the other 1080 resolution that SOny provides).

For example, GTA IV's native res is only 1152x640.
It has support to scale up to 1080p. So well... I'm just saying, before any confusion... every retail game is not done (with the exception of WipeoutHD) in 1080p natively as its internal resolution.

And Dead Space has support for 1080p though. I can confirm that, since I just played that in 1080p a couple of days ago.

Call of Duty 4's native's resolution is at 600p smile.gif But its upscaled to 1080p as per written on the back of the box. Same goes for CoD5. True 1080p game is hard to find sweat.gif

They're only PSN games....

Here are more 1080p games, as its native resolution:

Blast Factor = 1920x1080 (no AA)
Calling All Cars (screenshot) = 1920x1080 (4x AA)
Echochrome = 1920x1080 (2xAA)
Elefunk = 1920x1080 (4xAA)
Go Puzzle = 1920x1080
High Velocity Bowling = 1920x1080 (no AA)
Locoroco Cocoreccho = 1920x1080 (2x AA)
Mainichi Issyo = 1440x1080 (4xAA)
Rocketmen = 1920x1080 (2xAA)
Rub'a'dub = 1600x1080 (no AA)
Snakeball = 1280x1080 (no AA)
Sudoku = 1920x1080
Super Rub-a-Dub = 1600x1080 (yes this is 1080p)

Give me a few days more to come up with a more reliable list then. Like I said, this kind of sources are pretty hard to find in the Net. Best method is to try the game itself.

From what SSJBen is saying, 1080p games are only available in PSN stores. I'd like to take your word for it, but I'll confirm if there are also BD games available made on 1080p.

Perhaps a better list could be made to also list down all the games in the order of its original resolutions, namely 720p and below as well.

Thanks for the input guys.

IINM, the PS3 software scaler only scales horizontally. Vertical is stretched, not scaled properly.

I'm not sure if that's true, but it might explain why some 1080p games are 1080 pixels vertically, but not horizontally.

wonder if the upcoming GT5 will be in 1080p or not leh?

Anyway 1080p game hard to find... most ppl get 1080p LCD for viewing BD movies... and the price isnt tat much different anymore ... its like RM200-300 lebih.
