Who give the rm5 rebate? AMEX or Digi?
*
Digi, which is why it is better to do it at the Digi Centre.

No. You don't need to go to DiGi centre. You may fax the Amex autopay form to Amex directly.
*
True, but if you don't likely you cannot get the RM5 rebate from Digi. I had that problem. (Had it even when I did it at a Digi Authorised center).

M2U section is not correct. It is mentioned that u need to look at your statement to get your correct points. You cannot use the MR points to redeem Visa Gold GST.

I just called up Maybank CS for pre-approval card.

Initially, I wanted to take the AMEX Islamic Ikhwan Gold Credit Card. Instead I was told by the CS why not take the AMEX Gold Credit Card (Without Islamic). And she told me, the Islamic ones, I couldn't spend on non-halal place.

I double check with her. Will my AMEX Gold Credit Card be rewarding the points in AMEX Membership Reward Point or Maybank TreatPoints.

She said that it will be in Maybank TreatPoints. So I proceed with the non Islamic one. I will be getting my card in 2 weeks time.

Amex Gold CC is in Membership Rewards.

No. You will still get the RM5 monthly rebate.

When I first did autopay with DiGi via Amex (application through Amex), DiGi approved it but I did not receive the RM5 rebate for 5 consecutive months. Then I called DiGi CS and they admited their mistake. They immediately reverted RM5 x 5 = RM25 plus RM5 for that particular month to my DiGi account. Thereafter I continued receiving RM5 rebate every month.
*
wow u got them to backdate the rebates? Mine did not (I had some advanced payment in there so the autobillling did not kick in)

Do you mean AMEX Platinum Credit Card can get  :-
5x Membership Rewards points for every Ringgit spent on groceries, petrol, Cathay Cineplexes, bookstores - Kinokuniya, Borders, Times and MPH - and telco charges via Express Autopay - Celcom, Digi, Maxis and Telekom.
*
Yes. It is considered a promotion but I can't get an answer whether it will be a permanent feature....

Instead of vouchers, it would be better to redeem cash. Every 200 points can be redeemed for RM1.
*
Agree. And you get more points in return. As opposed to using vouchers.

True, for MR points. Will do that from now on.

Govt tax RM50 x200 = 25k MR

If divide by 5x (optimistic), need to swipe RM5k
*
err 50 x 200 = 10000

Just in case, but have you checked your online unbilled transactions? Nov 2010 rebate will only be statemented in January. Most of us can check online, but we will only see it statemented when we get this month's statement.

yes, just spoke to MBB CS and was informed cannot redeem for cash like AMEX's 200 MR = RM1, for now.

Also the admin fees for overseas transaction is still 2.5%.
*
Gen-X,
Did you check whether they have airport lounge access benefits?

Am compiling pro and cons of the cards right now.

Maybank CS tells me Maybankard 2 Amex Platinum is entitled for airport lounge access.

Taking it with a pinch of salt until more info available, as I think the correct info may not be available. ("Belum pergi training")

May not even qualify for lounge access.
