It seems MBB AMEX sales dept is pretty desperate, I received few emails & calls kept asking me when I am confirming on the pre-approved Plat charge card

guess they going thru their existing customers list as I got a call too on MBB WMC too yesterday. As for AMEX Plat, they called me months back but also turned down offer to upgrade. However if they fo make the 5X MR thingy a permanent feature, then will consider upgrading to AMEX Plat CC from Gold CC. The thing is I haven't not been paying annual fees for years and not going to start now when I can get free annual fees cards.

Mine normal Gold Card since 88 , got it in USA while still in school and transferred account to here when I came back in 1991. Back then many people were impressed that I was holding an AMEX Gold Card for a young boy. Now I old man and nobody cares if I got what cards I have as long as transaction can go thru. What is Gold Charter? I want the Black Card 

As it is a new charge card, Amex will study your spending pattern first. I am sure next time there should not be any problem for you to swipe your Amex Platinum Charge Card for an amount of more than RM100,000 in a single receipt.

Next time you swipe RM100K no more problems after you clear the above mentioned transaction of course. Since you charge so much, better enroll in Turbo points and get another 0.5% cash rebate. However Turbo Points Program expire every March and this year MBB took sometime to consider exteding the program. Check with CS.   

Another thing, you should get DA WMC and do balance transfer and earn some interest in FD. With that amount, can earn couple thosands by just faxing in.  Yes, DA allows BT from AMEX Charge Card 

Don't know about Gold Charter but they waive my annual fees without any questions yearly. I have previously swipe up to RM50K no problems and was looking for a new car a month back. To avoid embarassement, I called CS to asked if I could use my card to pay for a new car costing >RM300K, CS told me my CL not so high  But then again Auto Bavaria won't allow paying by card that much anyway but DRB willing if I got the Honda Elysion (this model not selling well) but ended up not buying both but another make Jap MPV.

Well, keep your fingers cross and hope they give you the extra 100K MR.

You can goto BT thread for more info. As for the rates, its 0% interest with no upfront or whatever fees, the only cost you inccur is your time and few sens for fax and telephone calls. It's better to equip yourself with either one Visa or MC since if you want to use AMEX as primary card.

I use Visa for places which do no accept AMEX and other auto debit/direct debit functions.
