how do we know if the merchant accept AMEX?

because i go pay my apartment bill just now, the reception girl dont know it.. she even asked me back, tak sama dengan visa/master kah?

well, seeing her naive eyesight, i gave up, i just gave her my visa card.
but i see her credit card machine is maybank one wo.. so, could i assume, all maybank credit card machine accept AMEX?

AMEX Gold does not have maybank logo on it

If your monthly statement date and payment due date fall on the 3rd and 23rd respectively, your assumption is correct.
I am not very sure about buying handset. I did try to pay my DiGi bill using Amex at a DiGi Specialised Store but the shop did not accept Amex.
I can say that almost all small car workshops (that are not associated with car brand) do not take Amex.

Did you try the large phone shops ie. Nokia Hello Station?

I saw some phone shops in Pavilion and Midvalley displaying 15% cash back sticker at front of their shop. Maybe you need to survey around first...

I am sure other bigger phone shops in shopping malls accept Amex.

Digi Specilised store is that located inside DIGI CSC branch? I saw Amex logo that stick at the door.

Bear in mind that the 15% cash back is capped at RM150 for spending of up to RM1000 per month at selected shopping centres. It is also subject to a maximum payout of RM4 mil which could be finishing soon.

With a budget of RM1000, you can get a pretty good handphone but obviously not a newer model.
Handphones in DiGi centre will not be cheaper than those sold in any other normal handphone shops.

did any of u have any difficulty to get connect to card center? i've been calling for many many times but it seems keep saying that the operator is busy -.-
