I guess we should organize the section ourself first?
Rooting guides for each phone? And transfer the threads of each phone personally? |

iPhone sucks bad, they cripple the phone (eg tethering) because of their stupid deal with AT&T. I hope they start offering Androids with high spec, maybe I'll get one next year. |

saw a HTC Tatto being sold for Rm1.3k. Singapore set. Tempting, but the small screen size and resistive touch screen is a real turn off. BTW HTC should price the Tatto more competitively to compete with the 5800.

------- another news about android ... check out this cool website DROIDDOES QUOTE We knew Verizon Wireless would soon be throwing caution to the wind in an effort to sway uncommitted smartphone buyers towards Big Red, and it looks like the November-bound Motorola Droid will be VZW's anti-iPhone. The spot, which launched tonight and can be view in its entirety after the break, is a 30 second clip that begins by mocking Apple's cutesy music and iconic font typically seen in iPhone plugs. It reels off a number of things that the iPhone can't do, and then abruptly goes into full-on tease mode by flashing glimpses of a robot-controlled future and a tagline that simply states: "Droid Does." source - http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/17/verizon...ial-droid-does/ - http://www.slashgear.com/verizon-motorola-...sights-1860786/ iDon't ftw~!! lol ....big trouble for iphone .. its HTC Dragon .. with better , faster proc ...
QUOTE We’ve mentioned the HTC Dragon a few times over the past week or so, with the rumored 1GHz Snapdragon-based Android smartphone – aka the Android HD2 – seemingly promising to answer any complaints users had about HTC smartphone performance. However, we’ve been yet to actually see the device in action; that may have changed today, with The Unlockr being sent some live photos of a mysterious, unnamed Android handset that could very well be the HTC Dragon. source - http://www.slashgear.com/htc-dragon-caught...potted-1960812/ - http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/05/htc-dra...ild-could-pack/ - http://phandroid.com/2009/10/04/htc-dragon...f-android-fire/ - http://htcpedia.com/news/htc-dragon-first-1ghz-android.html X10 ... instead of X3 racheal QUOTE Some new leaked info claims that the upcoming XPERIA X3 codenamed Rachael won't be called X3 as previously suggested. It's most probable name will be XPERIA X10 instead and its expected release is February 2010 - just in time for the MWC 2010. http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_xper...3-news-1193.php This post has been edited by ~tera~: Oct 22 2009, 06:17 PM |

y htc are so dumb .. they din even remember to put flash on their new phone device ..
Verizon Droid ERIS ![]() QUOTE We may have accused the HTC Eris – aka the Verizon DROID Eris by HTC – as having underwhelming specs this week (what can we say, we want some Snapdragon!) but according to the latest batch of leaks Verizon will at least be pricing it right. gdgt’s Peter Rojas has heard from “a very trustworthy source” that the Android smartphone will be priced at $99 with a new two-year agreement, just half the price of the Verizon DROID by Motorola. Meanwhile phoneArena’s sources have provided them with some new images of the DROID Eris, which confirm the 5-megapixel camera and WiFi. There’s no flash, but the camera does have autofocus; previous rumors have tipped the handset for a launch on November 6th, alongside the Motorola DROID. In case you haven’t noticed, the Eris specs line up perfectly with what’s on offer with the HTC Hero, the company’s current wunderfone. That handset is selling for $180 on Sprint right now (again, with agreement), making it something of a bargain on Verizon. source http://www.slashgear.com/verizon-droid-eri...firmed-2962148/ This post has been edited by ~tera~: Oct 29 2009, 11:39 PM |

QUOTE(~tera~ @ Nov 2 2009, 12:04 AM) ya based on the gsmarena.com the camera flash hardware are build in led flash for X10/X3 camera ... quite enuf to light up the capture image and vid in night for quite short distance maybe .. looks so small led flash btw .. haha why make it so small? even some older phones have better flash..but better than hero, which has none XD anyway, talking about another flash, does Rachael support flash content for its browser? Opinions are still divided whether there is a camera flash. Have to wait till Nov 3 to see the official specs.
Anyway, I've decided to get this phone even if there is no flash, no camera cover and no OLED screen |

yan5619,
I've no idea abt the price or when it will reach the stores (i do hope it will be this year) SanosukeSagara, Not sure of any NEW Android device with physical keyboard. Some even predict the phsycial keyboard will be extinct in a few years haha. I think SE is making X10 as a direct answer to iPhone.. and damn, SE will probably make it just a tad better than iPhone (mostly better specs BUT no flash, no camera cover, no OLED?? ... which is still better than iPhone.... but I hope im wrong tho Moto Droid has keyboard. But the GSM version is still just rumoured. This post has been edited by hsyong: Nov 2 2009, 12:48 PM |

QUOTE(hsyong @ Nov 2 2009, 01:04 PM) u don need to compare with iphone 3gs 32gb ... the hardware that SE Xperia10 provided far more special ... and not just same internal storage (both 32gb )x10 - 8 MP led flash , snapdragon proc , larger screen 4 inches (0.5 inches biggher than iphone 3gs) , stereo speaker , extension card slot .. this hardware are far greater than iphone 3gs .. since the release price are same with iphone 3gs about 3.5k early june/july .. there is nothing more that iphone have than X10 or just maybe lighter weight than x10 |

Agreed. But Apple products are wayyy too overpriced (even at the current RM2990). And with many other choices, N900 (EUR500), Hero, Moto Milestone (EUR500) , Acer Liquid (~EUR400 ??).. I really do hope SE will price the X10 more competitively .. maybe just a bit higher than Satio
RM2800 ~ RM3000 is my guess .. I really can't believe SE will price it much higher than Nokia N900 and Moto Milestone .. that'll be disastrous for SE (and for me) Added on November 3, 2009, 12:20 pmFull specs released: http://www.engadget.com/2009/11/02/sony-er...we-go-hands-on/ ETA 2010, Android 1.6, 1GB storage??, no FM receiver??, TFT screen 262K color (not OLED) Hmm, Android 1.6, no BT file transfer and no multi-touch as well? Now, this makes me believe SE is going to price X10 very near to Nokia N900, Milestone and Satio This post has been edited by hsyong: Nov 3 2009, 02:20 PM |

with those rumored spec ... are totally far from the original spec ... disappointment
262k colors in 4 inches screen .. big screen lack of colors and multitouch .. is frustrating .. even the droid screen with 16m color are nicer rumored spec .. 32gb internal storage instead of only 1 gb ... the person who started the rumored spec on the sites before official release need to go meditate in order to learn sumthing more relevant thinking .. lol .. maybe this lacks are in order to decrease pressure in Xperia10 battery life .. with snapdragon proc , 4 inches display ,8mp camera .. of course it will suck out the energy instantly i think the main SE trump card is in the RachealUI it self .. Timescape and Mediascape are fascinating .. the concept beyond the infinite key by showing all related things are truly worth thinking .. not only in person contact aspect .. even in media aspect too ... it will much easier .. for the user .. QUOTE Mediascape does the same for the media on your phone, presenting what you have available locally or online, and making track suggestions on the basis of the song you're listening to or stuff it has discovered your friends like via their communications with you. Finally, there's face recognition, which automates photo tagging by recognizing your friends after the first time you tag them, and also allows you to call someone by simply tapping on their face when viewing a picture. the quote taken from engadget links in earlier post the handset also laggy .. by gizmodo, slashgear, engadget .. hands-on .. with snapdragon proc .. also occur this kind of prob .. how it could be ?? till all of those info given .. i think its not worth it .. laggy hardware ... nice software .. also would make the experience while using it .. frustrating is it ?? and finally the TRUE SPEC of the SE Xperia 10 by gsmarena.com by this device spec and performance right now .. the price would not far than droid and hero to make it worth full .. http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_xperia_x10-2964.php This post has been edited by ~tera~: Nov 4 2009, 05:25 AM |

~tera~,
Don't worry about the lag.. from the video, you can see that the things that lag are the Timescape and Mediascape applications , everything else provided by the Android OS is FAST, e.g browsing, google maps etc. So, SE only needs to optimize those apps and ui elements that they coded. Not sure how much SE can optimize their apps tho. Having said that, I'll buy the darn thing in a heartbeat even if there are no Timescape and Mediascape apps yan5619, Yea, it's stated Android Market is included.. not sure whether it will be on Malaysian sets tho Press release: 262K colors Official site: 16,536 colors White Paper: 64K colors Even SE is not sure what type of display PS: Will wait for the official details from SE whether there will be an official upgrade to Android 2.0 Anyway, I think SE is way too slow. By the time X10 is available (Feb/March).. it has to compete with Nokia N900, Moto Milestone (both may well be selling for below RM2500 by then), Acer Liquid .. and maybe HTC Dragon and iPhone 4G This post has been edited by hsyong: Nov 4 2009, 01:04 PM |

The things I like most about SE phones are the camera and the music quality. Darn good as compared to others. |

And Apple has a way of marketing and design that, well, balanced in some way, but lack of feature in another way, which makes the consumer happy enough, despite having a bit less of functionality. Talking about X10, yup, it'll be challanging for SE upon releasing, the big players are coming in with similar or better hardware. Oh ya, IINM, the OEM for X1 is HTC, any idea what about X10? |

Waiting for one day where i can sync my android with OSX contacts -.- , .........in the meantime Gmail would just have to do la.
BTW my guesstimate for Liquid retail price would be less than rm2k or within that ballpark. This unit do not have the outlook to command HTC'esq prices unless they decide to make DRASTIC changes to the outlook for the launch unit. I personally havent seen the NeoTouch 200 yet but from webpics the build quality is much better than the Liquid eventhough they are near identical inside. I've also seen a HTC HD runnin Android...personally it feels 'cacat', resistive runnin Android just feels not right. This post has been edited by itanium: Nov 9 2009, 11:58 AM |

Behold ... newest Android User Interface .. Touch Wiz in
Samsung Behold II ![]() ![]() QUOTE Dubbing itself the "multimedia powerhouse" for T-Mobile's expansive Android lineup, the Samsung Behold II has just been confirmed for that rumored November 18th launch on T-Mobile (still no word on price, though we're hearing a predictable $200). The slate-style touchscreen handset has a 3.2-inch AMOLED display, and puts it to good use with a hearty skinning job on the part of Samsung, porting in most (but not all) of its TouchWiz UI -- unfortunately for us, that silly cube menu made the cut. Underneath is Android 1.5, and what seems to be a pretty standard processor. source http://www.engadget.com/2009/11/12/samsung...-november-18th/ ----------- side menu is xtraordinary ...with AMOLED screen rich with colors .. nice UI .. but the cube looks .. nothin special .. lol This post has been edited by ~tera~: Nov 15 2009, 11:44 AM |

QUOTE The difference in the 16 million colors of the Droid and the 65,536 colors of the Xperia X10 is the version of Android being run. Android 1.6 isn’t capable/compatible with 16M devices and so the full functionality of the X10 hardware isn’t utilized. Yes… the X10 DOES support 16 million colors but because it will launch with Android 1.6 and not Android 2.0, you won’t be able to enjoy 16 million color functionality. If it hasn't been discussed before, the 16 million colors is limited by the OS, not the hardware, for SE Xperia X10. sources: http://phandroid.com/2009/11/12/android-1-...-to-65k-colors/ http://developer.sonyericsson.com/communit...e/129244#129244 This post has been edited by yan5619: Nov 15 2009, 12:03 PM |
