Hi, Red User here. Couple of question

How many space is left for your phones in Phone memory ?

I installed all my apps to my memory card but Phone memory now only has 16mb. All my sms goes to memory card as well. Not sure why space is so low. I think it makes the phone really slow.

I have 101. firmware anyone using 2xx. firmware think it's much faster ?

Thanks.

I am using firmware version 200.12.87

My phone memory space is 22.3Mb. Messages are stored in the phone memory. Perhaps you did installed a few programs on the phone memory. Don't forget if you save your contacts in the phone memory, it takes up the phone's memory as well.

Added on May 23, 2010, 3:12 pmAnyone having trouble updating their Nokia Maps here? I seem to be getting this error message saying "Unable to get enough information about phone"

What does it means?

Contacts size can't be in the MBs right?! I scrolled down app manager and no app is installed in phone memory. I'm not going to reset...

Also is anyone having problem with accessing the memory card once in a while? I've put my sms on memory card and sometime it says "Memory card can't be read". The second time getting into messaging always works. It's annoying tongue.gif

I installed Map Loader not the OVI maps suite. It works. Maybe you haven't run the program for the first time on the phone. It creates /cities/ folder on your memory card. The Loader needs this.

Also it should be in PC Suite mode when you connect.

If you got all the above, maybe delete your cities folder. Run Maps and maybe have it download one or two tiles, exit, try loader again.

Which can be true also la about the contacts. Maybe it's certain apps you installed into your phone memory or those music/video files that are already present in the phone that has already taken up part of the memory space.

I've used my Nokia Maps before this. Only recently I needed update it but it seems like it's not working by any means.

Can!!! What I meant was, your phone has a warranty from AVAXX. But getting a warranty from AVAXX doesn't necessarily means you have bought directly from AVAXX themselves.

Any Nokia phones that bears the Zitron or AVAXX warranty can be sent back to NCC for repairs.

I don't know what's the problem though... But somehow the phone lags till it hangs. I am guessing it's some firmware bug or something. All of a sudden after I did the hard reset thing (*#7370#) there were so many facebook app widgets that appear in the installed applications folder.

I learned one thing, don't do hard reset. tongue.gif It's bad for the phone.

Ok, thanks for the tips.
But I am not too sure if the Nokia technician did the hard reset?

How would I verify that??
Lag till it hang?

That one I am not sure as in how to verify they did that or not...

Hard reset is only a last resort... Mine was lag till it hang.

But anyway I've sent my phone to NCC for them to deal with it. I think it's the firmware problem...

I collected my phone last evening.

The headphone issue is not rectified. Same goes to the sliding issue.
Moreover, the job receipt stated verified and tested OK...

When I ask why the both problems are not solved and you tell me it is done?

The front desk officer reply me the following:
Ohh...sliding problem ni, sebab you selalu push and pull. So dia cepat rosak.
Headphone ni pula, kita cuma warranty 6 bulan saja.

In my mind:
If Nokia design a sliding phone, and it cannot always slide, then for what??

Very disappointed with the NCC

The when did you bought your phone? About the sliding one I've no comments man... Why not try taking it the the NCC at Amcorp that side. It's the headquaters there so you can feel free to lodge a complain there. Bring the job sheet with you and notify them that the BB one didn't do a good job or rather didn't do anything.

Talking about phone accessories, yes it's only 6 months warranty.
