Good for you! My phone occasionally auto restarts. For some reason... which I don't know. I tried reinstalling the firmware but not that much difference.. It still restarts occasionally just that it's not so frequent.

Hahaha. To give them business? tongue.gif

Actually I could have saved up more money to get myself a HTC. I wonder if I sale this phone out again how much I can get back.

Correct...
phone price is moving almost every day...
if the phone still can use, either continue use it or keep it as spare
*
Second that opinion. I am actually using my old 5610 which is a little spoiled. Battery life is terrible even after changing the battery and did some repairs on that phone.

hmm not sure which one. the latest one i guess? how to check? btw i downloaded opera mini. but i couldnt get it to work with wifi. it always connects with digi internet. how to change this?
*
To check firmware: *#0000#

I had the same experience like you before. But what I normally do is, connect to the internet and open the nokia internet browser and then only open the opera mini tongue.gif

Have you tried deleting the access points as stated above? It should work if you did delete those DiGi Access Points.

*
LOL. There is a post somewhere up there I think it's within the same page or just a page before on how to delete your access points.

There are a few apps on the very first page. Additional ones you can get from OVI Store via the phone or the PC. I have Garmin as well tongue.gif

btw what theme do u guys use? any nice themes to share? currently using the default theme provided in the phone cz most of the themes from outside looks cheap. biggrin.gif
*
QUOTE(littlebeettle @ Jun 22 2010, 05:18 PM)
Yea...should there is any free theme available, do share..
*
Battery life with the GPS and the WiFi on is not that good. The phone gets hot easily and thus draining the battery. But playing the music can last like forever. Hahaha.

You can get free themes from here or here or even here. Of course you have to register as a member. laugh.gif

My battery live is still very good. I think I might let go of this phone if after collecting my phone from NCC this Thursday problems still continues to occur.

hi.. i'm thinking to buy this phone...

is there any problem with sliding??

i heard a lot of ppl have problems with the sliding... it easily became looser..
*
IMHO, all sliders has the same problems of the sliding mechanism being loose after sometime so it's not really a major problem. I think for this phone the major problem is the firmware bug.

yeah.. all slide phones eventually becomes loose. and yes the firmware bug and this phone doesnt receive frequent firmware update from nokia as its not a well selling famous phone. nevertheless its quite nice to use. smile.gif
*
Yeap. But it also depends on how often you slide the phone up and down and how much you dropped it too though. Hahaha. I've seen some as loose as the phone can't even slide up. Once you slide it up it just falls back down.

Firmware upgrade for Symbian phone is like every 3-4 months once. But this phone... not really though from Nokia. I should feedback to Nokia about the firmware upgrade. Recently they called me for a feedback.

This phone... easily beaten by the N97 in terms of functions. sweat.gif

ohh.. what is the firmware bug for tis phone?

i'm a noob.. laugh.gif

if the phone got loose, how to fix it?

change the phone housing? sweat.gif
*
This phone's firmware bug for now I notice is the lagging and the hanging as well as the auto-reboot. Some says there's some problem accessing the menu.

If the slider gets loose, you can bring it back to Nokia and ask them to adjust and tighten the slider back though. That's as far as I was told by some people. tongue.gif

yeah... symbian phone is easy to use..  icon_rolleyes.gif

Yea I agree on getting this phone is not really worth it. Myself I am having a whole lot of problems with the phone. I am selling this phone away to get another phone later.

Bringing it to NCC 3 times didn't solve my problem of the auto restarting issue after they changed the motherboard for me. I am utterly disappointed with the service I got from NCC Amcorp. sad.gif

You're welcome smile.gif You might wanna consider waiting for the N8 rather than getting this 5730 also.

btw, i prefer phone with qwerty keyboard... its really convenient for typing purpose...  thumbup.gif

feel so sorry for u bro. the only problem i have is the volume buttons when i first bought it but they said its the motherboard problem so changed it and its okay now. smile.gif what phone u getting then?
qwert keyboard yeah. then n900 would be the perfect choice but its just not symbian OS. but meego is really good and n900 is a really nice phone. biggrin.gif
*
No worries. my phone has been traded off with quite a good price for a SE W995. I don't know but after they changed the motherboard for me, the phone just keeps restarting by itself and even more frequently when I plug the phone on to the computer. After 3 times of trying to get that auto-restart issue, I just got really fed up and tired.

BTW which NCC did you send it to?

Just a word of advice, try not to send your phone for repair works at the NCC Amcorp. They are slow and the service kinda sucks and they are the HQ which is unbelievable shocking.gif

QUOTE(unixcorp @ Jul 7 2010, 09:06 PM)
is it expensive to repair the slide after the warranty is over??  laugh.gif
*
I think they will only charge you for the labour cost. They would only tighten back the slide thingy as I know. smile.gif

hmm i don't know which NCC. because it was the first week after buying. and i gave it back to the shop i bought it from. they took 1 month+ to change the motherboard. w995 is a very nice phone. my friend has it. i would have bought it if it wasn't SE. very complicated to use. biggrin.gif prefer nokia.
*
Ooh? Yours AP set? Actually SE phones are pretty standard though. tongue.gif

Yes it is for the N-Gage games.. tongue.gif But buying the N-Gage games are just too expensive. tongue.gif I only installed and used the free N-Gage Coupon for the FIFA game tongue.gif

DreMAx,

Previously you tot of selling the phone.
So the phone is in use or sold?
*
I've gotten fed-up of bring it to the NCC for so many times to get the problem fixed and well, it's never fixed after that many times of visiting them. Kinda wasting my time and my precious petrol.

Actually I've sold the traded in that phone for a SE W995 2 weeks ago. Even the shopkeeper whom my friends know could only gave me RM350 at most and the shopkeeper even said this phone is full of problems so thus telling me not to expect high resale value doh.gif

So far any problems with your 5730?

Mine is alright ever since sends in to the Amcorp NCC

Slidding is the only issue, but it is due to some time of usage. Can leave with it
*
Wa! You're so fortunate! sad.gif For me I sent the phone to the NCC Amcorp for 3 times and once at 1U. Problem wasn't resolved after that many times. So I got fed-up of going to NCC and thus sold the phone. smile.gif

The funniest thing was when I sent my phone to the NCC one last time at 1U they told me the auto-reboot issue happens for 4 reasons, 1 is firmware problem, 2 is memory card corrupted, 3, motherboard got problem and 4, battery ada problem (battery imagine... They even blame the poor battery sweat.gif ).

I was thinking it cannot be my memory card problem and the battery. Firmware maybe la but they said they did firmware reinstalling for me. I am suspecting the motherboard is the one giving all the problem.

Actually I also lodged a complaint towards the NCC Amcorp for their services. One is being very slow. Second, they don't even have the courtesy to call me to inform me that the phone is done (in which they say they will give me call and I only received one call that time when my headset had a problem.) and lastly, NCC Amcorp being the HQ doesn't provide the customer any details on the customer's work order on what they did to the phone (ie. firmware upgrade, replacement of parts etc) when the other NCC does provide necessary information on what has been done on the phone.

Customer service level in bolehland is way far behind..

I don't understand the Country Mgr for Nokia can cover up so well?
What a bad service they offer here based on your experience. Mine wasn't that good either but I fed up to correct them. I think I will get cursed the moment I turn back from them.

I am also wonder, the technician keep on seeing the same phone back to them, don't they know something is not right??
Do the thing!!!
*
That's the thing... I called up Nokia 2 days before I sold the phone away to complain about the NCC service in Amcorp which was total crap.

Actually I think the technician also lazy wanna repair my phone for me after seeing it so many times. So I am guessing he just signed the thing off and say the phone is repaired. It's just sickening going there so many times. Even my mom also put it that way that I am patronising that NCC like every other day. smile.gif

Like I said, wasting my time and my precious petrol. And now petrol price has gone up. doh.gif

Actually I almost made my way to Nokia's HQ at Jalan Pahang, KL.

laugh.gif I thought you already let got of it already. Touch screen... Consider HTC, SE and iPhone. Technically, I wouldn't wanna recommend Nokia smartphones anymore to anyone because Nokia smart phones are pretty unstable especially the newer phones.
