Sad to hear that....Could it because of too many of application download?

BTW, I have sent my phone to BB Plaza and lodge the complaint. hope it can be resolve
*
I don't know what's the problem though... But somehow the phone lags till it hangs. I am guessing it's some firmware bug or something. All of a sudden after I did the hard reset thing (*#7370#) there were so many facebook app widgets that appear in the installed applications folder.

I learned one thing, don't do hard reset. tongue.gif It's bad for the phone.

That one I am not sure as in how to verify they did that or not...

Hard reset is only a last resort... Mine was lag till it hang.

But anyway I've sent my phone to NCC for them to deal with it. I think it's the firmware problem...

I collected my phone last evening.

The headphone issue is not rectified. Same goes to the sliding issue.
Moreover, the job receipt stated verified and tested OK...

When I ask why the both problems are not solved and you tell me it is done?

The front desk officer reply me the following:
Ohh...sliding problem ni, sebab you selalu push and pull. So dia cepat rosak.
Headphone ni pula, kita cuma warranty 6 bulan saja.

In my mind:
If Nokia design a sliding phone, and it cannot always slide, then for what??

Very disappointed with the NCC
*
The when did you bought your phone? About the sliding one I've no comments man... Why not try taking it the the NCC at Amcorp that side. It's the headquaters there so you can feel free to lodge a complain there. Bring the job sheet with you and notify them that the BB one didn't do a good job or rather didn't do anything.

Talking about phone accessories, yes it's only 6 months warranty.

Hahaha. But now it's with NCC so I have one thing to worry less. I think the hard reset did corrupt firmware.

hi.. my wife phone got a weird behavior, it always try to connect to maxis 3g..any idea?

Same here. Just make sure when you wanna use the browser, turn on the wifi first before anything else. That is what I can suggest. Or probably it's the settings of the phone.

There is no specific Nokia Software Updater for a specific phone. The software in which Nokia provides on the web is for all Nokia phones. The software itself will determine what phone model is plugged into the computer and search for any available updates for the phone model.

If Nokia would create a specific software updater for each and every other phone, they might as well be an IT company than a phone manufacturing company.

In the website they do ask you to choose your phone model. But it's the same Software Updater software you are getting. The software in which they provide is able to determine what phone model you are using and it will search for relevant updates for the phone.

If you think I am talking rubbish then fine by me. I am just clarifying things for you but seems like you're being sensitive. Mind you I am using 2 different Nokia phones and I am using the same Nokia Software Updater.

And now by using the Ovi Suite you can do the firmware updates there as well.

the thread is meant for guidance and information sharing.

opinion and suggestion are to be shared, you like you take and you don't, no problem..No offense ya...

Thanks for the wise words. thumbup.gif for you bro.

Oh yes, yesterday I managed to ask Clareen (whom I bought my phone from) she told me the NCC in BB (which was the one you went to) is the HQ not the Amcorp Mall one. And apparently Clareen did told me that she has heard complaints about the NCC in Amcorp and Sunway.

But I am also finding it kinda weird because if you click here it says HQ is at Amcorp.

And my my... my phone is still with them...

Yes you can change the network from 3G/Dual to GSM. It does save the battery a little.

The flash you can opt to set it to be off as when you take pictures though. smile.gif

ISO.... hmmmm I haven't really explored the camera yet. Maybe the rest here can share?

Hmm... Sorry mate, I don't have my phone with me at the time being so I cannot help you troubleshoot your problem.

But the network change from 3G/ Dual to GSM is something which I can still remember. I hope you found it? tongue.gif

Yea. found that..
It's a shame that after all we are unable to install more language than what is pre-set in our phone
*
Haha yea. The only option is to switch the language though. But as I know you can install a certain language on the phone by flashing it by yourself with the help of one flashing software and the specific firmware you want which is easily found over the net. tongue.gif I've never done that before so I can't help you on that. sweat.gif

QUOTE(littlebeettle @ Jun 6 2010, 10:24 AM)
No worries..
Gosh...wat a bad news, i thought of going Amcorp next week since they only work on weekdays.

If BB plaza NCC could not solve my problem, means it cannot be solve elsewhere?

Recently, I tried to switch my operator to 3G...the line got cut off whenever the 3G switch to 2G coverage. Do you guys face similar problem?
*
Hahaha actually the complaints that Clareen told me about is only the duration they take to diagnose the problem and repair the phone. I think it's not really a problem how long they need to repair it (as in a week is still ok) as long the problem get's fixed.

There's another NCC at 1Utama. That NCC is pretty fast from what I heard from Clareen. You can PM her for details though. But I think she would tell you the same thing I am telling you tongue.gif

Huh (on the bold part) Mine is perfectly fine. What line are you using? Maxis or DiGi or Celcom?

Probarbly I'll try on 1U NCC.
I don't need speed, i need them to fix the issue..quality instead

Ohh, I am on Digi
*
Same here, the speed of the work done is not really an issue but that's if and only if it doesn't take more than a week.

QUOTE(Sky.Live @ Jun 7 2010, 11:55 AM)
My phone weirdly trying to seek for Wlan coverage constantly now.. not sure what's wrong since I check all my connectivity setting it just seems to be find.. It will scan and list down all the available WLan coverage available in homescreen
*
Did you by accident enable that thing feature to search for wifi connection every now and then?

Maybe you should try switching off the wifi feature whenever you're not using too smile.gif

I called NCC Amcorp again just then. One of the operators who answered the phone just didn't know how to talk to me... laugh.gif

I got to know that they are changing the motherboard on my phone... Hmm I guess it's really true that my phone was corrupeted by doing that hard reset thing.

I am also hoping to get my phone back by Friday..

dont know what happen to my phone. twice sending to NCC but they still can fixed it.
my phone problem:
1- screen not turn landscape mode when slide open
2- qwerty keypad error.. diffrent character when typing
3- phone keep restart every 5 to 10 minutes
4- flash not function

when i tried in front of the NCC guy, the phone working fine, but when i reach home, my phone problems came again.
pening2.....
what shuld i do? maybe resend again to NCC.
who wanna buy the phone from me, murah2....
*
This phone has some issues especially the sliding QWERTY keypad. It tends to get loose and wobbles a lot and it's also quite common for most sliders.

About the phone restarting every 5 to 10 minutes is likely because of the firmware bug. What firmware version are you using?

Seems like there's another person having the similar problem as littlebeettle (ie the screen going to landscape mode or returning to potrait mode). But which NCC did you send it to?

it's being set never all these while it still appears.. I thought it's ovi store's fault and uninstalled it and still the same problem exist.. Is there a task manager for this phone which you can kill any application than tabbing to it..
*
Hmmm... I don't know what else you can do about it... Hmmm... What's your software version?

There is a task manager but it doesn't do much. Just hold down the menu key until something pops up.

Ohh... Hmmm... I think you should do like what the other fella said. Bring it there wait a while then the thing should happen. tongue.gif What's your firmware version?

I just updated my 5730 but got 1 problem. The fullstop on the qwerty keyboard nw shows question mark when i press it. And all other symbols are messed up. How to fix this?
*
Could it be firmware bug?

Which version?

My advice is to bring it to the nearest NCC to resolve the problem. Anyone here has the same problem?

Added on June 14, 2010, 10:20 pmI just collected my phone this afternoon from NCC Amcorp. They did a good job by changing my motherboard. But now, it seems like I am having the same problem as most people are having. The phone just auto restarts by itself. Anyone here having that issue and how did you solve it?
