Was driving in this car park, as it's the only entry, and it's an open air car park...
As usual, I was behind this car...and once the car left the entry, the car park barrier came down...
So, I drove up and press the button for ticket.
The ticket came out and I pulled it.
The car park barrier went up.
Now just about this time, some uncle was reversing to park the spot next to the barrier.
Which is fine.
I have not engage to drive in . Neither has my car MOVED.
The barrier was still up.
After the uncle has done his parking, I started driving in.
And this is when, the barrier suddenly came down.
Made a few dents on the right pillar of my car...with luck, my windscreen was still intact...and no crack or break.
I stopped, but was too late.
After causing a loud hit, the barrier went up.
To evaluate the cost of this, I got to the parking admin.
Lamely, this is the sort of reply I get...
" My barrier never got this problem. I cannot help you".
"Do you have a manger or someone I can report to resolve this, becoz, this isn't my fault. The barrier just dropped ".
"Manager is not on duty".
< On a Sunday, afternoon, where alot of people are in the car park...and manager don't have???>
"ok, fine, I want to do a report"
"You go down to B1, and find the customer service".
Was a maze...but I found the customer service.
The room was scattered with boxes and newspaper flew everywhere.
A young chap gave me a form and asked me if I drove in half way and reverse.
WTF would I reverse for?.
He asked me for my IC, which I almost wanted to slam him..."what for?...u got my handphone, just call me and my car number"...but I gave.
It's been 3 days, since his manager was informed to return my call.
Yeah, you folks would have just said..Go and see him?..or call him?.
I did..not around, and the office doesn't have a phone line.
NICEZ?.
At one point, I seriously wanted to be a little gangster and persue this , so that to let them know... other future victims might not fall into such situation and they just ignore them.
At another point, I just wanted to get on with my life and just fix it even when it cost around $300-$400. Yea, bad luck or whatever...so be it.
Hence, folks...be careful of stupid car parking barriers.
My cost would now be your knowledge. Hope u folks be wary.
