someone else is probably lurking in the back ground (CIMB)...

if Nazir manages to pull of this stunt, it would probably be the coup of the century for Malaysian Banks.

On the other hand, i doubt it, since other (smaller) banks may join hands and rally around Maybank to prevent CIMB from acquiring Maybank.

No doubt Cimb would only be buying Maybank shares at a VERY costly premium.

Than again, there is always those naughty little proxies, nominess and so on well hidden from prying eyes... or even EPF, Khazanah or ValueCap turning hostile towards Maybank.
