i only know normal symbian phone is by pressing # button or the pen button (older symbian) but how to do this on n97 mini?

so, when will n97 mini got new firmware? i found out that there are still some bugs and flaws...

1. when i received more than 1 sms (that means 2 or 3), i wanna view it, then whole screen will go blank for very long time. then i have to slide the unlock key or slide out the qwerty, then the screen is working again...

2. my loudspeaker sound very very rough in maximum volume, even though i already set the equalizer to default, and turn off the stereo widening and loudness option inside the music player. all of my mp3 are also 128kbps and above, should be no problem, right? even my old antique n71 sounds better. but when i plug in headset, it is very good though...

3. the camera is a bit disappointed, most of my photos turn out to be very white-ish, even though i capture under yellow light inside living hall. weird huh?

4. for the auto key lock, there's no option to set the time, i think the default is about 10 secs...

anyone here got same problem with me?

in my case, i switch off the led flash before taking the picture under yellow lights inside living hall...

the photo should be yellowish, but it turned out to be whiteish

ok, will figure that out

but anyway, short distance pics with led flash turned on are very good, and i'm satisfied with the macro mode

Added on June 30, 2010, 12:05 ams60 unstable? hmmm, this is very subjective... well, this n97 mini is already my 3rd s60 phones, and i feel that the platform is getting more mature with each new models coming out...

occasional hang and lag is very common for most smartphones (wm, android, palm, maemo etc), not fair to say only symbian hang and lag....

as for the battery live, if u want to save as much as possible, then use less wifi and bluetooth, and try to set the screen brightness to minimum level.....

i charge mine once every 2 days, with average use of music, cam and sms, didnt use much wifi.......

but u got a point there, firmware update can improve performance and some minor issues... i love gsmarena too, they're very honest in review....

at nokia shop, nokia care centre or u can try to install nokia software updater (from included cd or nokia website)

button not working, must be faulty...

for fb, can try log in to m.facebook.com instead of facebook.com....

about the white lights on extreme angles, i think that is common, i'm having that too......

now most of us here are having v11, and few already having v12......

now using v12.0.110

but sadly, i dont feel any improvement, there are still bugs bugs and flaws

when i received sms, i slide the lock key to unlock, then touch the screen to view msg, then screen will go blank...

i already fed up with this problem

and the key autolock still no option to set the duration......

and when i received song from other bluetooth phone, the song will automatically save in phone memory, under a folder called Attachment, i cant choose where should i save

mine is total 172, used 126, free 45

is this consider normal? i already exit all background apps...

i check the ram using MemoryUp, is there any other way to check?

in the X-plore software, my C is total 276mb, free 190mb, E is 7.4gb, free 6.7gb, F is my memory card, total 3.7gb, free 1.3gb...

1. install ovi suite / nokia software updater from the nokia website, or install from included cd

2. charge ur phone battery to the max

3. dont set phone to offline

4. plug in usb cable

5. start update, and dont use ur phone during update

or u can direct go to nokia centre to update, they might charge u a fee for that though...

i heard within 1 yr warranty, only 1st time is free...

actually, u can update via ota too if u dont want via pc....

software for malaysian version is already @ v12

n97 = bigger screen, larger battery capacity, larger internal memory, got fm transmitter and lens cover

n97 mini = feel more comfortable in hand (very subjective), more nand memory, weight less, back cover is stainless steel, cheaper price
