Anyhow.
My latest pencil work... damn it feels like I've abandoned drawing on paper for quite some time now. Need to do this more often, I feel like my skills dying when I don't

Mechanical pencils saves you the time of having to resharpen the pencil whenever you need something to work on for a fine lineart, but IMO when the pencil's blunt they are better suited for shading. Sharper and pointer pencils make shading quite slow and messy, and you'll have to apply the "finger smudging and blurring" technique quite often.

Hey!. Good stuff. I just can't do that with a mechanical.
True, pencil require sharpening, but it was a great excuse to go out the lecture hall to smoke. Bwahaha.... Added on October 25, 2010, 1:13 pm QUOTE(FlameReaper @ Oct 25 2010, 10:31 AM) I dunno about you, but usually I sharpen my pencils with a slight flat point, like a chisel, by tilting it, can get varying thickness. As for getting blunt quickly, there is a reason why 'hard' pencils exist, isn't it? I like the way you draw the swirling effect. It just doesn't come naturally to me. So is smoke. More practice required until I can freely draw without referencing pictures. As for help your or my skill level, I think it'll be the same thing all art students get. Draw from reference till you get it right, or bore to death drawing the same thing till you get it right. This post has been edited by sadako-chan: Oct 25 2010, 01:24 PM |

I like the 2003 one, the pose and flame rocks. This 2009 one looks simpler.. and wow, she has a very flexible waist. Your shading style very good for making comics. I think brian's hair is quite similar to manga already. Not all manga has silky hair. I do agree that the way he highlights the hair can be improved though.
I already finished some variants I based on yukutan, including one I did in my earlier style I posted here, the anon army style. I wonder what all of you think of the legs of sadako musume, the one I posted way back? |

O.o. Actually my skills on drawing the character's hair is more influence by the 80s-90s manga such as Shiina Takahashi and Akira Toriyama Example what i mean, something like this. Remember Yoshihiro Togashi (Hunter X Hunter)? He's the type of the one who lazy to ink and colour his manga judging by the quality. I missed his Yuyu Hakusho quality.
