Google 'Private investigator malaysia' and you'll find a number of PI ranging from ex-police officers and military if u willing to pay a small amount to track the conperson down.. there used to be a case here quite a few years back when a bunch of people who were conned actually chip in to hire 1 and they did track him down.. they then got a lawyer to issue the summon to the guy and went to court.. not sure what happened after that...

You're right but only partly. Nothings happen after that.

For me i will hired PI and track down the conmen. After that i will hired some mamak geng to beat the shit out of the conmen.

Let that be a lesson!!!

Yeah that is true.. Not to say Malaysian police are not doing their job, it's because of the law. I dun think we have a firm cyberlaw that handles this sort of case. Even if u make a police report, it is hard for u to get the bank to release the cheater's details. Thats what most people told me.

Oh and paying mamak is even worst, the conperson might report to police and get u into trouble.. better yet u go to his house and tell his parents if he stays with them.. Or you could burn the mofo house down yourself ..wahhahah (jk k?)

It's not about they are lazy or not. It is because of bureaucracy.

To investigate an bank account is not as easy as you think. They need to get permission by the IGP to approve it and only certain(appointed) could investigate on it. This does not help either when information is not available on the state/branch bank but have been transferred to central bank database.

And a lot of things need to consider. 3rd party con or etc. Investigation of cyber fraud takes time.
Lesson 1, arm yourself with proper checking.
Lesson 2, remember that buying from Internet is risky
Lesson 3, convinience doesn't mean good. It might be riskier.
Lesson 4, do not trust internet purchasing.

Yes, like what stevanistelrooy mentioned, they have to follow lot of procedure. I myself got conned RM 3k+, until today still got no news from the police.

I learnt my lesson, no cheque for new customer, unless they're reputable.

There is a cyber criminal dept located at Bukit aman.

What i can said is , police only will action if the scam case is multiple complaint with same person.

try out TTPM and submit whatever details you can get to them , they might help on this .

Why don't you join the police force then. Sometimes people just complain and complain but don't do something to change the way things are rolleyes.gif And I agree with stevanistelrooy...sometimes con cases happen because people easily let themselves be the victims by easily banking money to other accounts without doing some thorough check up on the sellers background...easily taken in with crazy hard to believe low deals and then hastily making the payment without giving any second thoughts!
