can't say for philips .. but ad300 for me is both damn comfy, no fatigue issue and much much better sounding than any cans i listened/have before this. remember also ad300 is open cans so if going for privacy, a big no no. hehe.

closest good sounding IEM category you can get (but have to add like RM10 or so) is SoundMagic .. RM60 for both ; either PL11 or PL20 ..

if that's the case with the sweat and so on, apa earphone/IEM pon I don't think will last except those waterproof type but SQ dunno how that unit will performlah ...

It's more than good .. it's superb~
even without amp it already delivers superb clarity and soundstage.
tested it with a few amp* myself but liked it as it is more than with an amp

*in my defense the amp i tested with was of normal or 'ok' only quality not any high end ones
*which in many sifu cases wouldn't even consider that kind of thing an amp .. i guess ?

anyway like moniqee says, it's definitely easy enough to drive and haven't encountered yet situation in which it needed to be amp-ed up.


but in all honesty, these few days, I'm putting aside my ad300 for my stock KSC75.

if soundstage is your concern AD series shud be it.
both me and moniqee is getting an ad700 actually but that's a bit out of your price range rite ?

can always go for KSC75, can vouch for its SQ but soundstage? it being a clip on and all ..

wow bro . if ur already asking for the w-series, then you just need to confirm which one suite your sound signature and then decide.

as per advice from other old timer, those woody can really does need proper amp to let it shine .. so remember that your cost would look something like

cans + amp + DAC (maybe?) = RMxxxxx

of course you wouldn't want to settle with mediocre amp/dac summore so, there you go .. hope that helps ya
