There are many ways to lace. Sadly I'm no expert on this but Google has the answers I'm sure. Certain styles tend to put more stress on the laces themselves. Wow. No taxes?
Both my recent purchases didn't get stuck at the custom
The first is my loake and secondly time is my shoe tree and saphir; the DHL delivery above.
Guess I'm lucky cos I know a lot of sneakers from UK got taxed when it reach Msia
Both times I've purchased from Carmina, customs taxed them. In fact it sits a day or two at customs and once they didn't even know what the item was because everything was in Spanish. Had to explain to them myself. The second time my shoe trees (that came with the shoes) were taxed a further 20%.
Where do you guys buy your shoes from? I wonder why there is a difference in practice.
Got mine from herring using DHL And pediwear using Royal Mail
heavyduty I've always fond of sneakers, doesn't consider myself a sneaker head as I don't have a large collection but kept a few classics that I like like Asics Gel lyte III, airmax 95, airmax 1, flyknit racer and my current favourite ultra boost 1.0 (before all the hype) Only recently that I realised that I needed to go better than Hush Puppies to really have a longer lasting shoes and have a few more for rotation.
I'm still adjusting to the value of leather shoes. Over 1k of sneakers not a problem but for leather shoes still a bit pain... Lol. A journey it will be nonetheless. At least better than the sneaker reselling scene I think.

Most cobblers can do it. This pair I just sent it to a neighborhood cobbler that was subletting a restaurant, in a cubicle with 3 plywood walls. The finishing was not great.
My Cheaney I sent to a cobbler in a mall. Quite satisfied with the end result.
Ic. I am still considering where to send for topy. Most using vibram sole. Most likely go with vibram sole but got to wait to break in my shoes first. Thanks
Carmina is a definite step up from Loake (the premium 1880 range) . I don't own a Barker but from what I've seen it is at par with Loake at best, but probably worse.
However there have some disconcerting reports at the Carmina styleforum thread recently with some real shoddy workmanship. All 3 of my pairs are great though. My next pair would probably still be a Carmina. Thinking of a burgundy calfskin or Tobacco suede (love the tobacco colour).
You can try Carmina at WJ & Co at Bangsar shopping center. They are priced a bit higher than the website but at least you can get to try it. With the ringgit in the doldrums it is not that much more expensive.
(Hint: Carmina prices their Inca-lasted shoes about €35 more than other lasts. But at WJ all shoes are priced the same. At the current exchange rate and factoring in customs taxes the RM 1,880 price tag at WJ is on par with the price from Carminas website. They carry a double monk in snuff suede and brown calfskin. Both look fantastic. In my opinion the Inca last is a stunningly classy last. )
Ic. Yeah I did some conversion and it's not a lot in terms of difference.
Capital last on my loake is comfortable with some room at the toe and the width(its natural based on that lasts)
From what I read the rain last is similar fit, at least it should e the same size. Can anyone double confirm this?

Very nice. The darker spots on the Aldwych are intentional? Or is it just drying from some conditioning.
Drying from conditioning, so I’m back here for some reading and going to get Renomat from Shopee. It’s time to strip the build-up from years of polishing and a lot of mishaps like failed mirror shine etc .
another Yanko from the Black Friday. got it from patine.pl. Its Yanko year for me. lol. BTW both of them fits my foots real well and worth every penny in my opinion especially during sales
