Still sticking with calf as I tend to crease my shoes badly, a very careless walker here. Most corrected leathers can't stand up to my use and crack after a year or so even with care (not that it's necessary to nourish corrected leathers I believe).
*
I understand.personally I have only one pair of high shine shoes for those more formal events

Other locally available brands that are available are woly and terrago.Around 20 ish for a jar.

I've seen the woly "fashion leather cream" on lazada or somewhere. Is that the equivalent of pommadier crème I suppose. The fashion word in the branding makes it sound suspicious somewhat
*
That's meant more for bags and other soft leather goods because it has silicone in it (waterproofing). The cream polish would be in the glass jars and conditioner is called leather balm, big white bottle

I didn't know it is meant for bags, makes sense though.

I found out it had silicone a few years back and was a bit pissed at P Lal for selling it to me with my shoes. Threw it away. Lol.
*
It's good for covering up scratches and restoring colour to thin corrected grain leather and 'faux leather' that fashion brands like to use.the dye in that thing is pretty strong

U can try use conditioner sold in clarks stores, yellow colour. I really dont like dubbin because its so greasy so unless you want to waterproof your shoes, get some normal conditioner

You're probably right, thanks for the confirmation. I've been just told the same by a professional cobbler. I'll take note on the shoe tree tip, I plan to buy a few for my other existing shoes and I've been looking at a few places including Lazada and https://shoetreeproject.com/sg/shop/shoe-trees/ , such a huge price difference. Now I'll have to do a little bit more research on these. Unless there are recommendations on what I should be looking for at an entry level?
*
Get shoetrees from taobao, full cedar shoe trees cost rm40 a pair there, find ones with high reviews

I don't like to buy from Lazada coz they don't label products properly

Oh sorry, niakulah, I put the question mark in the wrong place! The wax
IS Yellow, just that there's a ring of dark stuff around the edge of the tin, and
the tin rim seems to have blistered looking vertical lines. They told me it was
the "beeswax surfacing". I guess it may work OK, but I'm just curious as to
the cause?
*
Yeah it's the beeswax separating, my brown saphir wax that just got delivered last week had the same thing

I would like to guess it happened during the pouring process before it hardens.like how if pour soup in bowl, the oil would separate and gather at the rim of bowl

Thank you sir.The pointers are very much appreciated.
Will get around to measuring and try to find the best fit. May just snag a pair online if the prices are tempting enough.

Just one other question, as leather is bound to expand over time, does this have to be accounted for when picking a size? Or it just wouldn't expand all that much?

Cheers!
*
The leather will stretch according to your feet. Buy what fits the best at point of fitting. The leather will be very stiff early on but will soften after a few wears

You can try in store first see which popular last fits you the best and use it as reference. For me, 10.5UK loakes in capital last fits me the best so for any shoes i want to buy online I’ll ask the folks at pediwear and herring the fit relative to the capital last

Hi guys, after almost 10 years if working in the field I got transferred back to an office working environment. Thinking of getting a pair of semi formal (?) shoes and another pair for casual Fridays or weekend drinking sessions. Edward Green caught my eyes especially a pair of their Wigmores that I saw of Leffot's IG which I think will fit casual Fridays and weekends perfectly. Their other ranges seem to be quite nice too.

user posted image

Also looking for a pair of their brogued and captoed Oxfords. Is there any store that carry Edward Green in Malaysia or nearby? Or is there any other recommendations from you guys? Not looking for a very formal style (I don't foresee any opportunities to attend black tie events) and maybe with an option of rubber soles? Thanks!
*
What’s the dress code for the office/ what does everyone usually wear?in my company’s Malaysian office that would be considered a ‘formal’ shoe because everyone wears beat up sneakers.

The nearest you can try on Edward green is in SG or HK but WJ&Co. in Bangsar shopping center has Carmina, G&G and John Lobb RTW.

How about Edward Green Picadilly or Banbury for the casual option?

Hi guys May I know where can I get proper shoe tree? Those with a knob, and decent wood material to absorb moisture n smell, and preferably not too expensive in kl pj area? Thank
*
I have a pair of cedarwood shoe trees from taobao. No difference from my woodlore ones. Was rm50 circa 2016. Even now the cedar smell is still very strong. Maybe can try there

Recently bought a pair from shopee and was very disappointed

I think Herring OEM from other shoe makers with some second or third tier products. I bought a pair of Brogue. They looked great on the web but I was very disappointed when i received them. I won't buy Herring again.
*
Herring has shoes in multiple price points and don’t hide their origins. Their High end Premier line is by Cheaney and Alfred Sargent. Their middle Classic line is by Loake/Carlos Santos/Barker. Their lower tier always on sale line is by Paco Milan in Spain.

I have 2 pairs of their made in Spain Herring shoes and they are very stiff even after a few dozen wears

How long for your shipment arrived?
their Saphir creme and wax price is good I'm getting both from them..
don't need mirror gloss for now
*
There’s a local seller on shopee selling saphir products. His prices give/take difference few ringgit from straits establishment.

I’ve bought a few waxes from straits last year, shipping was quite fast, took one week to arrive.the packaging was fine but it wasn’t bubble wrapped or anything, just in a brown envelope.

I wonder if anyone has any experience with them. The reviews seem very positive.
*
I’ve ordered more than 5 times from them. very fast shipping and sometimes they give free brushes and polishing mitts. Wondered if they’re official distributor here because they have full range of products, even the sole protector oil thing

Ok thanks. I was wondering if there was another one since heavyduty said they had the full range of products.

I don't mind getting some more colours of renovatrice and maybe even another bottle of renomat but they don't carry these.
*
A lot are sold out since the shop had a sale not too long ago.

You can check another shop here, she has renomat:

https://shopee.com.my/tam.pro.shoe.care.solution?smtt=0.0.9

The lady that runs this shop supplies the shoecare products in Isetan

Their horse hair brush is very reasonable priced
*
I have a few of their smaller horse hair brushes and always they always lose their hairs and the hairs are quite hard and abrasive.

I have a larger Florsheim horse hair brush and it’s the best brush I’ve used. Very fine soft hairs I used for daily touch-ups

RM 120 for half sole and heel
RM 65 half sole only
Got also others cheaper brands to choose
*
Price is the same for YKL cobbler at 1 Mont Kiara when i put vibram half soles and heels on my vintage florsheim imperials. They has a few pattern choices

Was a shame to cover up the v-cleat heels but on office marble floors it was like I was ice-skating
