I cant recall Mourinho saying he can replace Benitez. In fact the news I posted earlier shows that he rules out.
Is my eyes telling me lies or someone has an understanding problem? |

QUOTE Harry Redknapp back under-fire Liverpool FC boss Rafa Benitez Tottenham boss Redknapp also backed Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez to pull the club out of their current crisis. Redknapp said: “Rafa Benitez is going through one of those agonising, painful periods that all managers have to endure from time to time. “It’s when nothing goes right and every night you go home and rely on those closest to you to remind you that you can still do the job. “Confidence takes a knock, it’s a brittle thing in football. “But I do not doubt Benitez’s credentials or his ability for one second – despite a relatively poor run for Liverpool. “People should not forget that Benitez has won the Champions League for Liverpool and taken them to another final. “He has won the FA Cup and has maintained the high standards of success at one of the world’s greatest football clubs. “Benitez is a top-class manager and that has not changed. “Despite the defeat to Lyon on Tuesday I still predict they will beat Fiorentina at home and then go on to qualify for the knockout stages of this season’s Champions League. “I could not predict a top four this season now because things are getting so much tighter with teams like Manchester City, Aston Villa, Everton and my Tottenham side pushing hard. “But Liverpool will be up there when the honours are being dished out at the end of this season. “I would hope that it is not even on the radar up there on Merseyside that it is time to consider a change of manager at Liverpool. “Benitez has done five years and has a pretty enviable record of trophies. Liverpool is a football city and I’d hope patience is the motto up there at the moment.” http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liverpool-f...252-25003091/2/ |

QUOTE Rafa Benitez turns to Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish to help him through Anfield crisis And The Shit is trying to add salt to injury by spreading unnecessary rumours. So big of headline in TeamTalk.com. Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has turned to Kenny Dalglish in his hour of need and sought the Anfield legend's advice for surviving the biggest crisis of his five-and-a-half year reign. A run of four straight defeats has piled the pressure on Benitez and he knows it will intensify if United win at Anfield. As he prepared to face the champions without Steven Gerrard but with Fernando Torres, he revealed how Dalglish had become his mentor. 'It has been really important and beneficial to be able to talk to him,' said Benitez. 'It means a lot to be able to consult with someone who has won so many trophies as a Liverpool player and manager and has always had the fans behind him. 'He understands the situation at the moment and that is important. I knew he would bring experience and know-how to the club and he has helped make sure everyone sticks together.' Dalglish, whose four-year spell as manager saw him land three league titles and the Double, said: 'Everyone within the upper echelons of this club has no doubt whatsoever about Rafa. I know that for a fact. Everyone here knows he is the right man to get the club through this.' Dalglish, who spent 14 years at Anfield as player and manager in the 70s and 80s, added: 'Nobody is panicking in any way shape or form. Everyone is being as helpful and supportive as they can be to the manager. Obviously, whether you're a manager or a player, you have to retain your confidence and belief in what you are doing. You have also got to retain your belief in each other. It's important everybody sticks together to get through this.' Dalglish, the last Liverpool boss to lose four games on the run in 1987, added: 'Of course it's not good to lose four games in a row. It's a bad run and the fans feel it equally as badly as everyone at the club does. Everybody is hurting but the best way to put it right is to stick together and have nobody pointing the finger of blame.' Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...l#ixzz0UqZClPRV |

Real Madrid line-up £30m summer move for Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard
QUOTE Steven Gerrard has emerged as Real Madrid's top target for next summer. Real president Florentino Perez will launch an audacious £30million bid for the Liverpool skipper. Source is this like, true? QUOTE Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is already putting together a shortlist for next summer's transfer market, and it appears that his priority is a swoop for Liverpool's Steven Gerrard. "It's no secret Gerrard is a player Perez and technical director Jorge Valdano admire," a source inside the club announced to British tabloid The Sun. "There is a shortlist for next season and Gerrard is the first name on it." Having signed Xabi Alonso from the Premier League side last summer for €30 million, los Blancos are looking to spend around the same amount on the 29-year-old. Liverpool coach Rafael Benitez is already under heavy fire after an awful start to the season and he would be loath to lose his star midfielder. Gerrard's loyalty to Liverpool has previously been tested by Real Madrid and Chelsea, who he was on the verge of joining in 2005 before a change of heart at the 11th hour. QUOTE Ferguson: Kop could influence referee Alex Ferguson has already put Sunday's match referee under pressure by suggesting that the Kop could influence his decisions. The Manchester United manager is known for playing mind games so his comments don't come as a surprise. Ferguson said: "I know we've had a lot of players sent off at Anfield but I think that has been down to the atmosphere. Referees can find it difficult when Anfield is charged up, like it will be on Sunday. "The strange thing is, in the main players are aware of the intensity of the rivalry between the supporters and have conducted themselves very well in the games over the years. "It's never got to a level like it was when I first came down when there were players like Steve McMahon, Norman Whiteside and Bryan Robson. They were definitely very, very feisty games in those days. "Now the speed of the game means there has to be a different interpretation of tackles." There, this old hag has the audacity to say this.Vidic could be easily sent off before that 90minutes red card at Anfield last season. And at old toilet, the scene where he dragged Torres down in penalty box in 1st half should already sent him off instead of the 70minutes grabbing Gerrard's private part incident. Added on October 24, 2009, 11:07 pm QUOTE Journalist: If you win on Sunday, everything that has been said and written recently will almost be forgotten. Is that something you have to get used to in modern football? Yes, it is clear every week that everything changes. It is something you have to understand. With the internet, people need to write things every day, they need to sell newspapers every day, but they don't have too much news, so they have to say a lot of things. It is part of the game and you have to adapt to it. This post has been edited by solstice818: Oct 24 2009, 11:07 PM |
