you need a new philips 21:9 TV.. in order to watch without top/bottom black bars for 2.35:1 movies..

It's not that trends keep changing, it's more like there is no standard that everyone uses - so aspect ratios are all over the place. Many concerts and TV serials are 16:9, movies can be 1.85:1 or 2.35:1 or 2.40:1, etc. Without any standard, there is no hope that one TV will fit everything perfectly.
Most likely you will get "pillarboxing" - vertical black bars on the left and right.

First we'll complain there's huge black bars on our 4:3 tv, now also complain got thin black bars on 16:9 tv. When there's a wider like 21:9 later, we'll complain there's huge vertical black bars pulak...    At the end of the day, people will never get satisfied with what they have; me included... that's human nature.

How to get over all these? Easy, save for a projector

Finished the whole movie with Aiman this morning. This the new reference disc, EARGASM.

PQ 5-star as well. Better than the first one but still retains the look and style. Vivid colors, inky black, stable shadows, and great depth. Healthy grain naturally balance the clarity making it film-like. Can't wait for the IMAX version.
