District 9 Blu-ray to Feature God of War III Demo

Posted October 28, 2009 10:35 AM by Josh Dreuth

PlayStation 3 slim Sony Pictures Home Entertainment in conjunction with Sony Computer Entertainment America have announced that the upcoming Blu-ray release of 'District 9', which is scheduled to be released on December 29th, will feature a demo of the upcoming PS3-exclusive game 'God of War III'. After completing the demo, which is only playable on a PS3, users will be able to unlock an exclusive 'God of War III' making-of featurette.

This marks the first time a movie and game demo have been paired on a Blu-ray in the US, and exploits the exclusive Blu-ray function of the PS3.

Lexine Wong, Senior Executive Vice President, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, commented, "We are thrilled to give consumers not only an incredible high definition presentation of District 9 and the wealth of bonus material about the movie, but also a taste of what is destined to be the biggest video game of 2010. This pairing of the movie and game demo is just another example of what is possible with the Blu-ray format."

Peter Dille, Senior Vice President, Marketing and PlayStation Network, SCEA, continued, "Blu-ray functionality has long been a differentiator that separates the PS3 from other home entertainment systems. Through this collaboration with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment we're able to create a unique experience only available on the PS3 system that blends two of the most popular entertainment options available, watching District 9 and playing God of War III off the same disc."

this film is a shameless attempt to cash in on the dead of a celebrity, go to this website http://www.this-is-not-it.com/ before you decide to buy the BD

Have you seen it? Many who've seen it now admit that they are glad that the movie was made. Many reviewers other than that website gave heartfelt reviews and recommend it. Ebert gave it 4 out of 4 stars.

Cashing in? Of course it is, that's inevitable. But the movie is sincere and a great tribute to MJ. I'm gonna watch it in cinema if I have the chance, and will definitely buy the BD. nod.gif

Huh? The bass overdone? It's just perfectly balanced on my system. Did you guys set the LFE level a few dBs hot? Even the dialogue is fine. Obviously some re-calibration is needed. ROTF is flawless to me, especially the regular Amazon version. The Walmart Big Screen version, yes, it is a few dBs too low, but no certain frequency overpowering others, just need to crank the volume up a few dB.

The PQ on the IMAX scenes are amazing. Opening up the ratio really gives the scope more room to breath. In scenes like this where the characters are really tall, narrower ratio certainly has it's advantage. With the IMAX 70mm resolution, ILM rendered the robots at 4k resolution (4 times bigger than 1080p) and the details really shows.

IMAX is the definitive version, if you actually want the movie in the first place, or if you're looking for a good demo disc for your system.

Strange! Forest Gump already start to shipped to pre-order customers, why there is no review in www.blu-ray.com or bluray.highdefdigest.com?  whistling.gif
