personally i think it not only the heat but for hides too ... these h.a are big in size but timid in nature .. they tend to run instaed of attack more...
not like my Pt.. or some other desert scorpion like a.a or a.m or h.h.. they attack when threathen

well... the above is based on my own observation

From what i know, they burrow for
1. Hide
2. Humidity
3. Void from heat

So yeah...
