I guess that's HDCP handshake issues... My Pioneer VSX-919 do take a few seconds for the handshake. Actually even switching input on the TV's HDMI port itself will take few seconds too on my Sony TV and theelectic current shock should be from the TV, not the AVR. To solve that, connect and 'earthing' from your RX465 to earthing on your wall plug.

QUOTE(toolkit21 @ Apr 3 2010, 01:16 AM) Chinook, I understand the issue you're having with 465 and b.yond. HDCP - High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection. Handshake means authentication process to identify licensed devices from receiving content. More details: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDCPWhat I do when I turn to Astro b.yond is switch to non-HD channels first, then when receiver doesn't 'flicker on and off', switch back to the HD channels. Seems to work for me this way. Technically I know nothing about 'HDCP handshakes'. Actually what does it mean?... . |

QUOTE(ediaikau @ May 5 2010, 12:29 AM) guys i've just got a yammy rx-v465 this week. i have 3 hdmi input - ps3,dvd & xbox. the problem i have is when i watch dvd the decoder keeps turning off every 1 minute and then turns back on again. So what u get is a break in sound every 1 minute. But the ps3 and xbox is fine. I call the installer (desa ht) and they claim that it could be that the hdmi cable for my dvd could be faulty. Any feedback from our sifu's here.? Your help is very much appreciated. If the HDMI for the DVD is the suspect, you can always swap the HDMI cable from the PS3 or XBox to the DVD player to confirm. If it works fine, then you can basically confirm it's HDMI cable problem. |

QUOTE(ediaikau @ May 28 2010, 12:14 AM) shoot i'm using the old ps3 fat version. whats mpcm? does that mean i cant enjoy HD audio? even if it goes through the 465? Thats mean your fat PS3 will decode the HD audion from blu-ray and send it to your Yammy 465 as multi channel PCM. Fat PS3 can't bitstream the HD audio.. |

QUOTE(swhite366 @ Sep 29 2011, 06:57 PM) Hi all, The AVR can deliver higher wattage provided it also give you more distortion.. thus higher (10% THD) on the later..Hope this is not a repeat question here. I m looking for new avr, this will be my first avr, I prefer to have the entry level RX-V471, the specification from the yamaha web said "5-channel 525W = 105W x 5 (6 ohms, 1 kHz, 0.9 % THD); 675W = 135W x 5 (6 ohms, 1 kHz, 10 % THD, JEITA)" What is that meant?? Why this avr have 2 spec?? 105W per channel and 135W per channel Thanks. |

QUOTE(samowong @ Jan 23 2013, 11:30 AM) I also thought about asking for a specialist to come and check my setup, seeing that this is the 1st time i bought a HT system. It sounded much better than my previous micro HIFI, but how will i know if i am not setting it up correctly. Any idea of the cost for a specialist consult? You're from which part of Sarawak? If I have the contact number, maybe you can get a quote..Edit: Just saw that you're from Sibu. Maybe you can give Mr. Chong from HiFi Co near express bus terminal a call to see how much he charge for the calibration service. He's a very friendly guy. HiFi Co shop was facing the main road bypassing old Oya Road to Jalan Pedada.. This post has been edited by willkso: Jan 24 2013, 01:15 AM |

QUOTE(samowong @ Jan 25 2013, 01:38 PM) Seems that u know Sibu well I'm from Bintulu but I bought my speakers and subwoofer from him. Even asked him to come over to Bintulu for the calibration with my previous Pioneer VSX-919 but I had since changed my AVR. Well, price for the stuffs sometime might be a bit steep but sometime the service itself counts especially when you need help for some info and warranty claims etc.HT is pricey here. In fact, i flew with my HT set back here from KL 3weeks ago, with some commotion in LCCT due to overweight baggage, etc and a sore back. Estimated savings at least rm1K Bintulu here even worst as no dedicated HT or HiFi equipments shop. I used to get my Pioneer VSX-919 from KL too when I happened to be there as I can save at least RM600 by hand carry. |

QUOTE(robinsonz @ Apr 3 2013, 05:33 PM) hi guys, No.. That's not possible unless both blu-ray player and AVR has the ethernet function enabled via the HDMI 1.4 but I doubt there's much implementation out there..with this connection: bluray player->amp->TV via hdmi, if my amp is connected to LAN network (to played song from PC) will the bluray player able to received internet network from amp? |

QUOTE(locoroco2 @ Dec 8 2013, 12:06 AM) just went desa home kepong, the guy quoted 2,099 for RX-V675, F160 5-speakers-set for 1,850, subwoofer sw315 for 1200.. I don't think RX-V675 will be overkill for NS-F160 based on specifications for both. An under powered AVR/amp will kill your speakers easier when played loud..u sure F160 5-speakers-set only 1.5k?? damn almost got ripped off lol.. But the guy unwilling to hook up all 5 speakers to the v675 for audition purpose, ended up only connected the front 2 F150 speakers...when asked for the remote controller to change sound mode, he said the remote still wrapped inside the box not easy to take out... After that I went harvey ikano, the service was much better He recommended NS-555 speakers set bundled with V675 instead, price was 5399.. Subwoofer recommended was sw315 for RM1190 or sw500 for RM1490... So, |

Sometime it's just the matter you audition at one place and then buy at another place which can give you a real good deal. If the different isn't that much, then just buy from the outlet that provide the best service..

QUOTE(ben3003 @ Jan 31 2014, 07:51 AM) but 475 also got others features, based on purity concept of yamaha, i think i will prefer 475 so no need upgrade later on. any email/phone contact of desa kepong? or all desa will price the same? You can arrange your owwn courier to pick up from Desa if they don't do it for you or you find a cheaper alternative courier services.. |

QUOTE(Chongky @ Mar 30 2014, 11:15 PM) The system itself should be sufficient enough but that really depend on your own expectation and usually you don't expect to play real loud at condo until disturbing your neighbour too. Someone actually posted here that it was at RM3100 during Yamaha Audio roadshow. |

QUOTE(syarehim_cmy @ Mar 31 2014, 12:37 PM) what is the best center channel speaker for yamaha rx 675? i used jbl venue series for center. not enough bass i think. Usually you should expect mid range from the center speaker as that's mainly for dialogue only and you shouldn't expect 'bass' from dialogue.. |
