Why not the RX-V565 if the 665 is above his budget?

QUOTE(moomoos @ Oct 24 2009, 11:47 AM)
the replacement model is RX-V665, but i think should be way above your estimated budget

Since the Denon 1909 beats out the 663, the question now is, does it(1909) also beats outs the Yammy 665?

Actually, he's asking about DD or DTS so the answer should be yes. I don't see why a DVD player connected to the 363/365 via HDMI can't produce DD or DTS.

^ Really? So if I purchase a 363, I need to connect BOTH a HDMI and an Optical cable to the AVR in order to get DD or DTS? That doesn't sound right..does it?

Hi guys, is there a way do display the input name & sound codec on the display of the unit? E.g on my RX-V1900, it always shows "Straight/Dolby Digital". I was wondering if there's a way to make it "Blu-ray/Dolby Digital" or "Dvico/DTS".. I guess u know what I'm referring to ;-)

Thx in advance!

I believe Yamaha's HD capable entry model is the RX-V465. Should be around RM 1600 or less.

Good to know the 1900 is still pricier than the 1065. biggrin.gif
I bought mine for RM3900 last year.

Got my RX-V3067 yesterday to replace my RX-V1900. So far, I'm pretty satisfied with it.

^ I got it a pretty decent price. My 1900 is still with me..will be selling it soon. Shouldn't be too hard to sell it off since it's in perfect condition. My friends are already eying it. :-)

Huh? Isn't the RX-V2095 an even older model? It doesn't even have HDMI inputs.

Sorry, my colleague already booked my RX-V1900. :-)

Ah. I get what u mean. The 2065 doesn't "look" as nice/expensive as the 1900/3900.

When I purchased my 1900 I believed 2065 was just released but I went with 1900 because I didn't like how the 2065 looked. It didn't matter how it sounded. biggrin.gif

Jenn77, the settings is on the Yammy itself. If I remember correctly, it's one of the buttons inside the flap.

Airplay doesn't degrade the audio quality of the audio files. Bluetooth however does.
I don't have a Yamaha AV receiver anymore (used to have a RX-V 3067) but when I airplay my mp3s to Marantz NA7004 or Pioneer LX-86, they both sound fantastic.. just saying.
