Fellow friends,

I'm trying to setup a HT soon at my apartment. If you guys could tell me, if i were to get a Yamaha AVR, and plug it to HTIB [some brand , maybe Pioneer]

Is that possible to do? Im not familiar with this stuff. Please advise.

Sub maybe i will use the one from HTIB

most of the HTIB that i've came across have all the power amp module for the speakers AT THE SUB.
so plug everything at the sub. meaning there's no upgrading the sub to another AVR.

some HTIB that has separate amp for the satellite have passive sub meaning there's no amp in the sub. to pair it with an AVR, you need an active sub.

Ok noted..

My cousin has a sub woof, something called Velodyne? Is that correct the spelling?

Just bought rx-v465 complete with speaker and subwoofer a week ago. I am now enjoying watching movie and music.. no time for teh tarik anymore haha.. wonderful..!

The best thing I only using one remote control (i.e. the rx-v465 remote control) to control my tv (samsung) and dvd player, but not my media player.. A.C.Ryan. Did anyone here know the remote control code for this A.C.Ryan- Playon!HD.. need your help please..

465 should be around 1600, the remaining 900 is enough to buy NSP270 http://www.yamaha.co.jp/english/product/av.../ht/nsp270.html

the last I checked, the speaker set is about 800 +/-
*
Where did you checked last for the speaker set around RM800? Mind telling us the place / shop.

Total cost is about 3.5K cheaper than DesaHom, kepong.
Not a bad rate though. Will consider this setup for my home.
