both my AVR are Yamaha so I can't comment if it can replace denon/onkyo/HK etc. I will leave it to the expert here but personally I'm happy with Yammy 1900.

I used to be Yamaha amp owner but now Onkyo. I do miss the feature of Yamaha that can let us store the setting for up to 4 memories on different speaker setting in term of the level, distance, size etc... It does come in handy when comparing the diffirent output to see which suit me best.
