I get to know Kirkland minoxidil 5% is a much more cheaper alternative to the Rogaine. I never use it, but want to try it out. I get to know that Minoxidil is only effective for short term, has anyone use it for over 2 years? I read in other forum that many has hair regrow at early stage but loss their hair gradually after one or two year.
Also, how u guys apply? I read in review that it need an hour to dry after applying minoxidil. It is quite tedious?
How you guys buy Kirkland minoxidil? Online via ebay from oversea seller is much more cheaper. Anyone try to buy before?
plase share, thanks.

Kirkland is a good alternative to Rogaine and many people use them cuz they are cheaper. There are other alternatives like Regaine that you can get here locally. As long as it's minoxidil 5%, it's generally the same stuff they use.

it will not give you nasty side effects like propecia. the only drawback for this minox is that it will itch like mad. it really depends on the person, some people are more allergic/sensitive to it while some others do not.
i used ReGro Minox 5%, lots of hair growth in only 5 weeks, until i gatal tangan go reduce the dosage and its back to square one. so if you want to use minox, make sure you are consistent with the dosage, follow the instructions. 2 dosage per day 5-6 sprays.
consistency + following instructions = hair growth. don gatal like me go reduce dosage.

Read this to know more that minoxidil is just temporary effect to make hair growth. http://hubpages.com/hub/How-Does-Minoxidil-WorkThere's always a negative and positive side on every product. You see. Even an f**king apple would give you a negative effects. So there's always a hope for those who really desperate for this sick (MPB) . We have no choice to made and we have to use it. I mean dude , would you just go shave your freaking hair bald and went for the office to work?? Or bringing a thinning hair like an old man for work? Girls love guys with hair . That's a fact. So don't keep giving those negative comment " it's a scam, omg it wont wrong at all, OMG it will make your head bald after 2 years usage." WTF man. Do you even knows how the MPB sufferers feels? Some of them even count the spending of minoxidil cost per year. Saying that it will cause you a boom. RM140 for 3 months. It's reasonable. So there's always a hope. Some times miracle does exist. couldn't agree more yangthai. i'm one MPB sufferers and I feel exactly the way you describe it. i'm only 28 but this hair loss problem had already severe. and i'm using kirkland minoxidil 5% for almost 1 month now and I notice lots, lots of baby hair growing already. therefore it's definitely not a scam. This is where I order my drugs. They are based in Hongkong, but source generics from India. Be aware that customs may seize your order at the airport, but one or two bottles for personal use should be alright. They have plain minoxidil, or combined with finasteride (Propecia), kopexil (Aminexil) and tretinoin. Shipping is a flat five pounds sterling. Search for "minoxidil". http://www.unitedpharmacies-uk.comCheapest is "Shalltop-A" with minoxidil, tretinoin and azelaic acid. Note that the azelaic and tretinoin creams are for acne. Azelaic acid has been used at typically 20 per cent for acne and rosacea. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzEaiJ4oSdMThis post has been edited by Tham: Jun 6 2012, 09:29 PM

Let's put this question to the rest.
Disclaimer first : as the title at the start of this forum says - all health advice here is not to be taken as medical advice, so though I am a current practicing medical officer, I am to be just considered as voicing my own "opinion".
Minoxidil is the only proven scientific method for hair growth. It only continues growing as long as you apply it. Once you stop, it will shed slowly.
Treat it as a recurring expense. It's like hypertensive, diabetic, gout, oral contraceptives, hormone replacement tablets - as soon as you stop them, their effects will wane and disappear.
It's like turning off the aircond in your room/car. Pretty soon it is gonna get hot again.
