It depends on your requirement. S1 and 6600N is same function. But 6600N has optional for Digital TV tuner and built in wireless. If u do not need TV tuner, than go for S1. S1 can insert a 3.5" Sata hard disk where N1 cannot. If yr files mostly is high bitrates files, better go for S1.

once in awhile my dvico has some files it cant open(or no sound) that my PC with VLC player can play

Updated with the latest firmware? Can it be the issue with the header compression? I read elsewhere that header compression with latest version mkvmerge have the issue..

The N1 Cafe (in fact most stand alone media players) cannot play MKVs that was compiled with MKVMERGE version 4.2.0 and newer. Header compression issue. You'll get sound but no video. I suspect the two files above was compiled using newer MKVMERGE versions. But it'll play fine on the PC.

Get this:

and read the two above MKVs with them to see which program compiled the MKVs.

If indeed they were compiled using MKVMERGE 4.2.0 and above, then your option is to remux the files using older mkvmerge version. I use mkvmerge 4.1.0 and remux mkvs that I cannot play.

You need to select correct encoding for your subtitle.

What is yr subtitle type, simplified or tradition chinese? Pls select the correct encoding. If the sub still suck, I suspect your srt file is not chinese srt. Try other and c.

i'm using tvix m7000 running on firmware 1.3.168. that was the last time i bothered to keep up with the firmware updates. is there any other newer updates since then? I went to dvico's official site and it stopped at 1.3.168.

i checked out mpcclub but the thread and discussion stopped at 1.5.19 pre-release. what's the latest firmware? where can i get it?

Which of the models would you guys recommend ? I was offered the Slim S1 for RM700. Just wondering if i'm able to get better model with the price?

I dont prefer the A1 Droid on my TV, well honestly, too many Droids in the house already. LOL.

Hi guys, i am just a newbie in media player and would like to post some questions regarding my Slim S1 which i bought lately.

1) Some of the movies I played got this issue which half way through the movie got stuck and unable to play on. I have to fast fwd that scene in order to play on and I suspect this happen when it was moving on to another chapter. Any idea?

2) Some movies while playing, it was lagged and no audio for few seconds b4 getting back to normal. Anyone know why is this?
