Been ages since I checked this thread....

QUOTE(yonggoh @ Mar 23 2010, 04:00 PM)
Just wondering how other owners are storing their media...
I currently have 7TB of data spread over six individual hard drives...
While the dvico's feature to swap drives easily via that nifty bracket is cool... it can get tiring when dealing with six drives...
Anyone is using some of those multi-bay docks that take 4,5,6+ drives at once? i think Icy Dock has something like that...
Would be nice to have my hard drives all stacked up and connected via a single wire to the Dvico...
*
Currently I have my media served from a NAS (Synology DS408) to both my 6500A (living room + bedroom) via a gigabit wired network. I find this is the easiest solution to have all my media accesible from both boxes.

QUOTE(rx330 @ Apr 6 2010, 01:59 PM)
sigh.. nobody cares abt tvix anymore sad.gif

QUOTE(rx330 @ Apr 7 2010, 12:25 PM)
zero, long time no see
nothing much happening, with all those cheaper players nowadays, who wanna pay for an overpriced media player? sad.gif

Yeah so many new players out there. I am still searching for my perfect box (TViX is great but no PVR function for our TV/Astro). In the meantime, I'm happy with my two 6500A, but if I find that "perfect box" with all the trimmings (PVR, all the right video/sound support, gigabit ethernet), I can be persuaded to switch.

just connected (via USB )a Hotway 4-Bay SATA HDD Enclosure, filled up with 4 x 1.5TB WD Greens to my Divco 6600

The Dvico was able to read(in addition to it's own hard drive hooked up internally) files from ONLY two of the 4 harddrives from the hotway. These are accessible via the TWO USB icons fom the movie menu.

This was a disappointing discovery as it negates two of the four disk bays...

When connected to my My PC, i am able to access all the 4 bays without issue...

I guess NAS is really the only way to go for those with large number of files...

have you update to latest firmware
latest firmware support 6 usb external drive.

Hei, guys. WTA. I m using 5100HD and the 1TB already fill up long time. Thinking of changing to 2TB F3 samsung HDD.

Have you guy try it before? The player can detect the 2TB HDD?

Can I ask how you configure the NAS that can stream the file to the 6500A?

I have the DS409+ and 5100HD. Currently using PC to transfer the file to the player through g modem router. Thinking doing same connection as you.

I also did search on tvix dvico website and found out that only have d-link dwl-g122 and linksys wusb54gc wifi usb adapter compatible with tvix hd.

There two dongles only support up g mode.

Did anyone try use Belkin N150 wireless usb adapter on Tvix Dvico 6600a?
I already done a bit googling and this wifi dongle is using Ralink RT3070 chipset.

so dvico can detect belkin n150 wireless dongle?

Don't dig up and quote my Mar 13 post lah hmm.gif If I can remember correctly that time Dvico (can't remember 6600 or N1) using 1073DD only.

Nowadays probably different. Not up to date about Dvico products, but even AC Ryan POHD nowadays using 1073DD+ chip (1073DD C+ to be exact).

新的TViX 3600会带有USB 3.0接口

We already mentioned the upcoming Tvix 3600 in our interview with Dvico. The release of this product is currently delayed and not all of its tech specs are known, or even decided yet. However, we do know that it'll be built around a Realtek 1283 chip, probably the 'Plus' version that's compatible with HD audio. We also know that the manufacturer plans on integrating USB 3.0 and eSATA connections. The first test models should be released to journalists sometime this June.

Two other new Dvico media centres are scheduled for release before the end of the year. Although it's still too early to have any word on their spec, we do already know that one will use the new Realtek RTD1085 chip (not due before October) and the other will use the Sigma Designs SMP8656 (due in September).

Added on July 7, 2010, 5:08 pmDear All, TViX model M6600N already can support HD Audio Pass thru rclxms.gif . Pls read below message from Dvico:

The M6600’s last firmware was 1.9.9 (official release) and we’re about to release the new beta firmware Rev 2.0.3A3 publicly.
This beta version will be available on our web-site within today.
This firmware is applied to all 6600 series (6600A/N, 6620N, 6640N, 6600N+, 6620N PVR DUO, 6631N and 6632N)

The newly added functions over Rev 2.0.x are marked as blue color.

The major differences from last version (1.9.9) are supporting HD-audio for 6600+, user configurable main UI and Web-Remote™ 2nd version.
You can make your own main screen, including background and icons. This revision also contains many changes including APE, native frame-rate, etc.

The upgrade procedure takes less than a single minute. If the firmware upgrade fails, please do the SAFE-UPGRADE.
Release Notes for Rev 2.0.3A3 since Rev 1.9.9 (last official firmware).

Yup. As from the latest updated firmware, it is support Ralink RT3070 chipset. But why you go for N150? Since you can get 300Mbps currently in the market now. Even A.C.Ryan and Xtreamer wifi also compatible. We have tested.

N1+ is using 1073DD+ and M6600N is using 1283DD+ and M3600 is using 1283DD+ also.
So that's the current lineup.

That means the old N1 was the one using the 1073DD.

Only about 100pcs N1 old version were sold at Malaysia. The batch started on March 2010 all using new 1073DD+ liao. But as mpcclub mentioned, if customers do not have HD Audio HIFI, it is no different between 1073DD and 1073DD+.
